yup, i am 66 yrs old, 5' 6'' 135 lbs. i seriously wanted a Honda Fury. sooo glad i bought the 2019 Honda Rebel 500. good looking bike, fast enough for my little butt. i love it. only had mine for 3 weeks now, i work during the week, ride it to work, about 15 min. from work, and it's been raining the past 3 weekends which sucks, because i want to ride for at least 50- 60 miles for once to see if the seat complaints are real. mine handles really well, again it's quick. mine is all black with an orange tank, looks reall cool. people love it, as do i. the Fury would have been too much bike for me just to get back into riding. so yeah, me be a happy camper with my 500.

I can't wait to get into an MSC and start riding. I've always wanted a bike, and now that I been researching and came to the conclusion that Scramblers are my favorite bike and then a blackout cruiser. Now, being a beginner and not wanting to spend lots of cash and crossing the line too much into toy territory, I feel a 350 to 500 is the sweet spot for my highway commute. I'm a heavy dude, at 110 kilos and 1.85, but I'm not a speed person. I'm a grown 34 year old man with small children that depends on me not doing stupid things like going above speed limit and getting killed or being pulled over. My current commute vehicle is a 2003 honda Accord V6 that gets bad gas economy and just with the amount I'll save on a 500cc, the bike will pay itself. Also, insurance here in California is too expensive for new riders and is the most expensive state, but cruiser like the rebel I'll be saving half compared to types of bikes. Right now my two top bikes I'm looking for are the 500 rebel or Husqvarna Svartpilen.....Sadly there are non in my area.

That’s a solid plan and the Rebel is certainly excellent on fuel. I too am not a speed demon in any way and the Rebel is perfect balance between performance and practicality in my opinion. Ride safe ✌️

Thanks! Ultimately I wanted to try a cruiser, but specifically one that was light and nimble. I learned that I didn't care too much about power so I wasn't utilizing the MT07 to its full potential. Riding position are seat height are big reasons why I chose the Rebel!

Currently on a Suzuki Tu250X and thinking of moving to the Rebel 500 next, not sure if I should just go straight for the 1100, but the $$$ might be a big factor the way things are.

@RideYEG2 жыл бұрын
I love owning both. I was actually planning to make a video on those two. The key difference is comfort/ergonomics and what kind of riding you want. Performance, power and aggressive riding go for the MT. If you don’t care about speed and want a solid all around bike with a classic or cruiser look, do the Rebel. Let me know if you have more questions and I’ll address them in the video. Thanks for watching.

I just sold my vstar 250, looking to upgrade. Would this bike be a good enough upgrade or do I need to look at something like the street twin?
@RideYEG2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the type of riding you want to do. I like nimble bikes and I don’t ride highway as much as I need the power for so I much prefer the feel of the Rebel over the Street Twin. I think the 250 to 500 you’ll certainly feel a big power difference.
@DustinTavo3 жыл бұрын
So I'm still watching but wondering, did you own the Bolt or similar or what? Own the Bolt. Getting kind of tired of the weight and I pretty much just ride in city and low speed practice also. The Bolt gets hot and the weight is great for highway. I have wanted a Rebel since before I started riding. Riding the rebel was very uninspiring and the brakes were terrible. I wanna love it though, it did really great at jumping into highway traffic, I liked that a lot... just no torque. On the OTHER hand that 500cc engine and throttle actually did what I was telling it to do unlike the Bolt that takes getting used to. In low speed stuff that throttle does not like to twist at the start. Overall I like everything about the Bolt but wanna go back to a small bike so I'm really looking at the Rebel.
@RideYEG3 жыл бұрын
I did not own the Bolt but I've ridden a couple different cruisers before pulling the trigger on the Rebel. The biggest factor to decide against the Bolt was the weight as you mention - I don't do a ton of highway and don't really need the power, so I downsized from a Scrambler to this Rebel. Absolutely love it, it does highway as I need it to on the odd occasion, and it's amazing in the city. Try to give a 2020 or newer model a try because they upgraded a lot of things including the brakes. I think you'll be surprised! Ride safe ✌️
