Im slowly getting better matey, this was recorded back at Christmas and if I do say so myself Im even better now. Its just confidence and Ive also realised I was running way to much air in the tyres when this was recorded so real lack of grip. At a lower pressure more suitable for the wet mud and chalk its much better

@LambChopRides
@LambChopRides 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruce, it certainly enables you to know how to react when the bike does move or loose traction on the road. Wouldnt say it changes the way you ride onroad though as its a very different set of skills. But certainly complements road riding for sure

Chopsy I raced Ktm 300 execs for ten years enduro and off-road events. Piston and rings every 120 hrs and lots of rear tyres. I still ride my last bike pre injection it did 330 hrs of competition. Has now done over 600 hrs original bottom end and clutch now that's great value . Engine braking is over rated. Pivot pegs stand on them let the bike work underneath you. Cheers brought back memories of some wet rides.

If you go slowly on muddy terrain, your knobbies will clog up and you loose traction and slippery. It sounds counter-intuitive but you actually have to maintain a speed where mud will not cling to your knobbies. It maybe scary first but it is not so bad with seat time.

talking rock ....Utter rubbish!!!! We ride every week on trails far more technical, gnarly bogs, brambles, water crossings, and on average the group picked up our pension books 12 years ago. This not a young mans game, it’s every mans game.....and women’s too. So many men of a certain age are planning their funeral rather than getting out there. I’m about to change from a fe350 to one of these 2T rockets. These 2 strokes perform very much like a 4 stroke and on trails there is no need to literally scream it’s head off, the torque is phenomenal. Young mans game indeed, what a load of ol’ rocks!

Two back surgery’s , three knee surgeries, and two hand & neck plus a wreck on our HD trike that almost took our life which was not our fault + I am 64 yes dirt riding isn’t even a option , the HD has been repaired at the cost of $28,000 so pavement is where it’s at for me
@andycapp8843
@andycapp8843 4 жыл бұрын
talking rock .......Goodness gracious me, Lady Luck hasn’t caressed your brow for some time it would seem. The good news; you’re still able to get your leg over at 64 years young all be it on the pavement. On last weeks trip into the wilds, I had a wash out on one of the trails (really flooded here in the UK) and landed on to a 45 degree grassy bank at around 20 mph. The bank on that stretch was around 80 yards long but I found the one and only 2 inch tree stump which fractured a rib, maybe 2, just to the side of my body armour. I must not laugh, cough, choke, or move suddenly otherwise I have instant pain, like a knife from a mentally disturbed betrayed wife, hence the reason for my response to KZbin comments. At 64 yers young you’re a mere child but keep going, on and on and on, there’s nothing better than 2 wheels for a) keeping you young or b) introducing you prematurely to the big biker in the sky. By comparison, at 73, I’ve been fortunate, broken many bones through sport over the years (just the one right now through biking) but you my friend have been through the wars. The very best of luck to you, keep the helmet well polished and the large black round rubbery things at the bottom, now and at all times.

Chops. How is the engine braking on that 2 stroke? The only reason I'd ever consider a 2stroke is for the ease of maintenance but all I ride is supermoto. With a 4 stroke (FE350) my engine braking gives me a lot of confidence on track. Have any thoughts in that regard? Also everyone rides a 4 stroke for supermoto. I've only ever seen one 2stroke and it was just a first timer.
@LambChopRides
@LambChopRides 4 жыл бұрын
My friend is just building a 300 tpi supermoto. Going to be following the build on the channel. RJ has one too remember, four strokes are easier to wheelie due to the extra engine braking and liner power band. I do find 2 strokes much harder to wheelie and excellent rear brake control needed. I'm interested to see what his bikes is like

@@andycapp8843 Thank you for your feedback however we had to highlight this as APEX PRO is actually for street motorcycles and not enduro/motocross. Just to avoid any confusion. WP XPLOR FORK comes as standard with all 2020 enduro bikes. Its open cartridge layout has a spring in each leg with split damping functions. Compression damping in the left leg and rebound damping in the right. Adjustment is via easy-to-access clickers (30 clicks) on the top of each fork leg. For 2020, the standard preload adjusters allow for easier adjustment without the use of tools. The fork's updated mid-valve piston delivers more consistent damping, while a new setting allows the fork to operate higher in the stroke for improved rider feedback and bottoming resistance. Hope that helps?

@@LambChopRides Could you get 100 miles out of it on fairly easy going do you think? I'm looking to do a long-distance off-road event (mainly fire roads but also wet/mucky stuff is possible) and looking for a bike that will cope easily, rather than my Ducati Scrambler which is more of a road bike really - I've tried it off road and it's a lot of weight to cope with when the going gets tough.

The scaphoid fracture is a horrible injury. It takes so long....progression is noticeable in months, not in weeks....but it is a common problem that it takes sooo long (almost no blood stream in that bone). As i keep saying, before you can go fast, you have to learn to go slow. All the great enduro riders inc God Jarvis come from a trials background. Learn some basic trials skills and stand up all day long in any gear and at any speed. Balance. Body position. Throttle and clutch control. Highly recommended. Oh and if you think a 2T 300 Husky enduro has torque, wait till you have a go on a 250-300 2T Beta or Sherco trials bike.... Cheers, Great workout. Innit. I'm 60 this year, and 45 mins on one of my air cooled monoshock trials bikes (84 Yam 250's) and i'm f##ked.
