Why wouldn't u recommend them what was wrong u guys sounded like u liked the rear bumper and that tire carrier that you had made that hooked to that moto bilt bumper so what you dont want to say who made the tire carrier for you or your sayi g to go to other company that makes rear bumpers that have tire carrier built into the bumper
@OverlandishAdventures
@OverlandishAdventures 4 жыл бұрын
Steve Hagman we do like the rear bumper. Motobilt is a great brand, and our rear bumper has side protection which is a must if you plan on taking your gladiator offroad, which we do, but the tire carrier was way overpriced for what we got. We don’t like to give additional business to places who take advantage of people. The design was very basic, and they used the wrong latches which made it impossible to close. We had to drill out our own holes to come up with a way to get it to lock. It seemed like there were basic steps missed by someone who said they have done lots of tire carriers. They also blocked one of the back up sensor spots when they could have very easily relocated the sensor by drilling a hole and mounting it, wouldn’t have taken them long to do this. For the amount of money we spent on it we expected better. We should not have had to find a way to secure this ourselves the day before our trip. So yes we have our reasons, and we are not suggesting to buy a bumper with the tire carrier on it as there isn’t anything quality out right now unfortunately. Because of this we don’t recommend the company who did ours. That being said, we don’t want to call them out either by name dropping them. I hope this brings more clarity.

Your not going to want to hear this but you would have to remove the belly plates and wrap the exhaust in heat wrap. If you don’t you will overheat the belly and melt air lines and possible electrical lines. The tape is sold at any auto parts place Napa, Advance Auto etc. good luck on your trip.

Our gladiator at the very beginning had its fair share of problems but after owning a jeep we understand what it’s a jeep thing means now it’s pretty cool having something that can pretty much go anywhere. But to be honest it really just comes down to what type of adventure you were looking for like a Overlander Toyota Tacoma will drive circles around the gladiator on the freeway and high-speed off-road but the gladiator can pretty much go anywhere the Tacoma can’t keep in mind we own a Tacoma too I love our jeep truck and we will continue putting it to its test so far we’re traveling to Colorado pulling a trailer loaded and she’s doing good

@@OverlandishAdventures Thanks for taking the time in replying to me, really means a lot. I have owned many brands and been with Jeep since the YJ days and currently on the JLU and JL. Jeep has come along way and the improvements I have seen since the YJ,TJ,JK to the JL has been really impressive. All makes have thier issues but its how they address the problem that makes or brake a person from sticking to the brand. My only concern was the engine on the JT, on the JLU and JL the engine is perfect for its size. But for the JT this is where I'm concerned. So i started searching for owners feedback and got confused even more 😆. As I want to replace the JLU with the JT as the added space with the bed is what I need. So I am comparing it as an upgrade to replace the JLU.
@OverlandishAdventures
@OverlandishAdventures 4 жыл бұрын
The biggest issue is the steering, if you test drive it and it has a little play get a different one. Either way can’t go wrong with Tacoma vs gladiator. The gladiator had more aftermarket options, and an awesome Jeep community.

Great setup, let me take that back that is a fricken bad ass setup. What do the straps do under the rear?
@OverlandishAdventures
@OverlandishAdventures 4 жыл бұрын
They are called limiting straps and they’re there so the springs don’t fall out of the truck when we flex the back has so much flex the springs were literally fall right out it’s a good thing and a bad thing the jeep truck still so new spring options are limited

What do you think about installing the awning on the driver's side or the passage side? Do you like it on the driver's side?
@OverlandishAdventures
@OverlandishAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
The few times we have used it yes, however with our build we would have to have it on the driver side as our IKamper opens up on the other.

Like everything that you’ve done. Which iKamper model did you decide to get? I was looking at the iKamper mini for my Gladiator but now that I see the bigger one on your gladiator it looks good on top. It doesn’t seem to extend off the sides or the back.

Thank you for the comment. There was noting wrong with the ready lift kit it’s a good kit keeps the JT riding like stock. The biggest difference we see now is flex and we paid extra for the falcon 3.3 and they are def worth the money.

Just get a soft top, its that easy to get the whole roof off like that instead of just the front. Hard top sucks, just a pain and waste of $$$$ that can be spent on much needed upgrades.
