Just got my own JT Rubicon with a manual. I completely agree with the clutch being too vague, I'm also not a fan of the gear lengths and how it really doesn't seem to like being in 5th or 6th gear on any type of slope (referring to on the road). I am super excited to own one though, as it opens so many options for me that I couldn't exactly do in my 01 Mustang GT, like being able to put more than just one medium/small box in it without taking up ALL the storage. I feel like I can almost do anything I want with it; daily driver (check), off-roading (check), moving cargo (check), towing (check). One of the only things I REALLY wish it had was a Cummins Diesel with manual (I learned to drive on a '99 Ram 2500 diesel). I also wouldn't complain about a 392 with a manual.

good video. Try driving the diesel. Perfect power/torque combo. 6500 lb towing capacity. and this number is way underrated as well. I have put 37 inch tires, 2 1/2 inch lift with tereflex shocks and have an air bag set up as well when towing. Easy 8000 lbs. The weak link is the brakes without a trailer brake controller and larger brakes. Mopar has larger brakes and the aftermarket as well. Not sure why Jeep has not made the trailer brake controller standard as part of the tow package.

Great video! I test drove a manual Mojave and fell in love. Have you tried towing any vehicles? If so, how did it do being a manual transmission? When rocking crawling or beach running, did it give you any trouble being a manual once again? Thanks in advance.
@JTRSpartacus3 жыл бұрын
I've been pulling about 3,000 lbs - ATV trailer usually about 30-50 miles at a time. I do this all the time and there are Zero issues for the manual. I pulled 5500 or so twice for short trips - loads of stones. This was a bit more of a struggle and really had to aggressively downshift in advance of hills and build RPMs up to keep momentum. Zero issues at the beach. IT just goes... Rock crawling in a Rubicon is fantastic. It just crawls over anything I point it at.
