I like the Z900rs. I have a 2018 model. I replaced the exhaust with Akrapovic headers and stayed with the stock chrome muffler. The stock exhaust is heavy. I had my ECU reflashed also with 2wheeled dynos. No issues. I installed a K/N airfilter and LED turn signals, removed the rear tail fender. Cleaned it up nicely. I also installed carbon fiber pieces. Ordered a cafe cowl from the folks in Japan especially for the Z900rs. Color matched and provides some aerodynamics and protection. I did replace tires with Michelins also. Very good choice. Radiator guard installed too. Radiators for these bikes aren't cheap and can leave you stranded if out riding far out and you take a serious hit. In my opinion, the stock exhausts are quiet but are heavy and don't let the bike perform to my expectations. I can't stand the "scooter" sound of a stock exhaust. Too tame and wimpy. I like to get on the throttle and get the Rev wind-up. Anything you can afford to do to reduce weight and improve looks and performance is worth it!

Hey! Nice video. Can you tell me where to get those case protectors please?? I can see what is wrong with the fitting of the Delkevic , you fixed the rear muffler the wrong side of the hanger (common mistake, ask me how i know) :)

I love the chrome and have to have the back seat chrome bar get the ecu flash , put on heater grips Oxford or kaw ,sliders,radiator cover,windshield only for freeway cross country take off in city time🧝⚡🌟🌴

Day and night difference. Dramatically (for the better) changes the riding experience. On some bikes a flash isn't that big a deal, on this one it's huuuge.

I can't understand why anyone would lose the stock exhaust. The character of the bike is so perfect with the stock exhaust. To gain a few high end ponies, feh. I love mine the way she looks/sounds stock. My mods: ECU Flash - must do, easily (easily!) the single best mod for this bike, 90 degree valve stems, easily the second best mod for this bike, easily (otherwise a real drag to check or adjust tire pressure), throttle lock, windshield, engine (crash) guards, rear rack with grab rails, factory center stand, radiator guard, handlebar grips, what am I forgetting.... probably one or two more practical things... An incredible do-it-all bike, the perfect homage to the 70's look.

While I agree with most of your post, I disagree about the exhaust. You never saw an exhaust like that on bikes back in the day. Most retro would be the 4 into 4, which I never liked. Mine has the Delkevec header with the Kerker canister which looks much more era correct. Other than that, good post....

@@bleak0218 2 Wheel Dyno Works in Kirkland, WA. One of the biggest players in the bike flashing biz. As to the 'what it does..', it totally changes the riding characteristics of the bike. Day and nite. A giant improvement. Yeah there's more area under the curve up high, but that's incidental. It's the driving experience that's improved. A profound improvement.
