2020 KAWASAKI ZH2 | First Impression Review | Super Naked For The Road EP1

In this video I give my very first impressions of the new 2020 Kawasaki ZH2. I am considering getting a Super Naked bike for the road and it's on my list of potential candidates. This video is real-time, from me first leaving the showroom. This is not intended to be a review, there are lots of those on KZbin. Its just my initial thoughts and ramblings live, as they come into my head. I'm trying to let you see my thought process as I look to decide on a new bike to buy.

Iv put my very own zh2 through its paces back to back against my own 2019 tuono factory in the Highlands 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 over the past few days. Both bikes performed flawlessly. Never a dull moment on either. Never wanted more from either. Tuono has the legs in the corners.. zh2 has it on the straights. Zh2 comfort (needs a thicker seat) all day long. Tuono i started to get back ache after 6 hrs. Zh2 throttle is best in the business. Makes my tuono which I thought was ok feel like a thumpy v twin that wanted to work against me than with me.. zh2 can sit at 50mpg or 35mpg when pushing. Tuono very thristy. Zh2 is a amazing all round motorbike. Can do touring, speed, fun, twisties, mpg, comfort, road presence, draws a crowd, wheelies, pillion etc. Dont buy this bike if all u wana do hunt for the best lap times. Theres better suited bikes for that purpose. Ultimately one i had most FUN on was the zh2. Thats something as I adore my tuono which is still a very epic bike. Love then both.

Only thing I don’t agree on is the throttle. I though it wasn’t great and I have ridden a few that were similar. Seems to be a Kawasaki thing as I’ve owned several of them. All had poor throttle feelings. That being said it was easy to dial out on the dyno. Difficult to buy a bad bike nowadays. One thing for sure though, if o was going a long way, I’d be heading for the ZH2

I took the Ducati v4s street fighter out for a test ride what an odd setup for a naked bike all the power on the bike is at the top ? It’s dead until about 8k reve’s then it goes ballistic which you would expect from the faired version but the naked ? No good having all that power up the top think you might feel the same way after a ride but beautiful bike and plenty of plush bits on it see what you think

BigbubbaJ1000 hmmm strange I’m uk too and I’ve tested loads of bikes back to back and I fount it really snatchy plus I’ve owned a few Kwaks all been sane. It’s by far the worst of any in its class that I tested and lots of others have confirmed. You had yours mapped to sort out the Euro 4/5 fuelling? My 2019 zx6 throttle was utter shit but when I had it mapped was miles better. Have you ridden other brands like BMW and Ducati to compare it? When I ride my Aprilia for the first time I couldn’t believe how smooth it was after the Kawasaki

@@mostlymotorbikes funny u say that as the tuono is renowned for being snatchy which is why I was surprised as I found my 2018 very smooth (compared to my snatch king diavel). My zh2 is like butter. Super super smooth never stall always goes into gear. N is easy to find. I could ride this bike with zero experience. Makes my other current 2019 tuono feels snatchy where I'm ridding the clutch in town

I think the extra comfort of this, at east for me, makes it the best option.

Steve Smith did you watch the whole video? I took it down some fast twister and on the motorway. I even turned the cam off at one point so I could really unleash it all. I think it’s a great bike just a couple of main negatives for me we’re the throttle which was not smooth and the overall feel felt a bit cheap. But I’ve own a Kawasaki for a year and know you can map the smoothness into the throttle and it is cheaper that the KTM and Ducati for example so it’s personal preference.

@@stevesmith6236 I was typing on my phone. My opinion after riding and looking really carefully at all the bikes in a very short time span is that it was cheap feeling and had a snatchy throttle compared to the rest. Go have a go on the Ducati and let me know your thoughts. I have no skin in the game here so no need to be biased either way. I actually own a 2020 RSV4 and **Spoiler alert** thought the Tuono was probably my least favourite of all of them (close with ZH2). I get you like your bike and thats your baby but coming on a KZbin channel getting all passive aggressive and defensive in the comments is not going to change the fact that everyone has a different opinion. You are fully entitled to make a KZbin channel and state your, just as I have done.

I test rode most of them back to back over a few days mate and filmed them all partly for KZbin partly to make sure I could reflect back

Nah, it all starts to blend. It is the same with any bike, you get used to where the power is (just about everywhere on the Z H2) and you ride. Don't even notice the chirping anymore. I just ride and have fun.

It annoyed me after a couple of hours. The general noise of it is no where near as pleasing as the b4’s or twins. Just my opinion though. Everyone has a different one which is good :)

That's a very strange analogy but you are very much entitled to your opinion and I fully respect that. Mine is that the ZH2 sounds bland and the SC is irritating after the initial novelty. Doesn't mean I am right just thats what I think.

Nah not at all. Its just a new thing for ppl. Be surprised hlw many ppl moan about the novelty of a loud exhaust. I love the noise of the SC. No other bike has it. Its the bike talking to u. Helps u know the power band. When I take my tuono out I end up missing the zh2 chirps. When I take the zh2 out I miss the v4 boom and crackles on over run.

Iv jad a 2019 and a 2020 sdr. By far the biggest let down iv had was the 2019. Shouldn't have bought it. By far one of the beat bikes iv owned was the 2020 sdr. Epic bike and huge improvement over the last model.

Yea I will. I love the track as it’s so safe in comparison but there is something to be said for a nice cruise on the road somewhere nice. Issue is my RSV4 1100 isn’t the bike for that. It belongs at the track.

It definitely would. My zx6 was same. It’s euro 4/5 rules making it run mean low down. For some reason Kawasaki struggle with that as other brands still manage a smooth throttle.
