Each Kia / Hyundai is improving, but of course, so are the prices. But they are reliable and seem less dismal inside than early models. I love VW, but I'm afraid I'd have one of these over a Golf these days as I've had too many poor experiences with VW.

@Koi Captain I've heard similar stories from other owners. I used to buy vehicles for various organisations and Kias and Hyundais made very good sense as working vehicles - reliable and relatively easy to maintain.

any Korean or Japanese vehicle will turn out to be much more reliable than a german equivalent lol. The Germans don't make cars to last, instead, they include lots of unnecessary technology to impress ppl that will just end up breaking and costing a fortune.

I've been driving for 45 years - all sizes and classes of car. I am just about sick of these reviewers going on about feedback from the car when cornering because guess what, cars don't drive you, you drive the car. With a bit of practice in any car one soon learns its limitations. Oh and just in case anyone hadn't noticed, public roads are not race tracks.

I will give my verdict on the kia ceed 1.4 gt line 69 plate model...I own this car....been driving it for a year.....now I had to borrow my dads Ford focus st line 1.5 model a little bit older....and it felt like a tank compared to the ceed.....kia all round a great car

Very disappointing review, there a lot of things KIA has improved for CEED third generation model and you have a lot of extra options included for the money spend on the car, unlike Ford Focus or VW Golf where extra features are expensives. In conclusion stop being so subjective about Focus or Golf, KIA CEED is a really good option for hatchback market.

Marian Marcu it’s simply the best if you don’t need that solid german handling feel to a car. I know I value it, but most people would be just ok with the comfortable kia. Golf is a racket scheme

You shouldn't compare this with a skoda or a ford. You should compare it with the new Mercedes A class. Especially the quality of the interior materials... You will see that the quality of materials of the kia is better.

Great review as always Rebecca, question though, if the Ceed is more expensive on a PCP deal than say a Focus, surely that means it won’t hold onto its value better than the focus, if it is worth less at the end of the PCP deal?

Every time someone try’s to knock Kia products I simply say you can get a brand new car for under 10 grand with 7 years warranty. And every car manufacturer is scared of giving hybrid/electric cars long warranty as they are unsure about the battery’s yet Kia still offer 7 years and 100,000mile warranty, its partner Hyundai offers 5 years and UNLIMITED miles warranty on every car includeing hybrid and all electric products.

For daily, relaxed driving, go for the 95, its quality is just adequate on a daily basis, but if you want to push the car to its limits, you're better off with the 100 octane

I just picked up my 2020 Cee'd Gt line. I like to drive with the window slightly open, If its raining (even slightly) you get a constant and far reaching barrage of drips all over the door card, seat bolster, your leg, arm and at 120 Km/Hr.. you head and neck. I've just ordered some wind deflectors to help, but its the biggest oversight on this car. the rest of the car is quite adequate.

Kia is better than the Ford competition and the new Golf will need to be better.The Ceed is since the 2th generation better equipped, using better materials and the most important is more reliable than the competition.The new CEED is by far better than any European competition and only the mighty Honda Civic can stay in it's way.The exterior might be subjective but when you look at the European Hatch cars, none of them looks beautiful and fresh and the new Ford is not to nice on the outside.About the 1 liter engines, they might be better for nature but are lazy and the most important is that this kind of engines(FORD) tend to die with no chance of resurrection:))).I ve seen lots of Ford Focus with dead 1.0 engines on sale.KIA grew fast and well and the future will be bright for the because they are bold and very good in what they are doing.

Yeah, Because the average buyers actually watching this video will just buy a Golf or a Focus because it's a 'safe' choice, and be a sheep and get a Golf. The Golf is a great car, but I'd rather have something with some character. I had a rental Peugeot 308 GT Line last week and I was really impressed with it, and at least that is a little different!

Just to give a critic in alot of reviews i see, they take the Ceed 1.4 and compare it with the 1.0 Ford lets say. and talk about how good the handling is on the ford. Or like here talking about the volkswagen engine choices. But compare the price against 1.0 3cylinder engines, i tried the polo 1.0 3cylinder. Sorry to say but it's inadequete to say the least. They say for more people it would be more than enough. To me i really don't think so, for city driving sure but even then the 75Hp vw engine was shaky and slow as hell not to mention on a uphill. It felt like it couldn't handle the car 3Cylinder engines for me it's a big no. I know in these reviews they get top of the line models Not the basic shitty ones.To me if you get lets say a golf you need to get atleast the 1.5liter engine. The older 1.2 TSI engines had alot more punch than the new 1.0 3cylinder cars. That's my opinion.

Very uncomfortable ride, uncomfortable seating position, windows have a reduced height to make the car look 'beefy' so losing it's function before so called 'beauty' ( I want to look like a 4x4 ). Can't even put my elbow out of the window on hot days as the door is too high. Designed by robots and not real people who will actually be driving the car. As for the road noise...........
