2020 Kia Cerato GT | Top 5 new features

In this video Simone reviews the 2020 Kia Cerato GT and rather than just a conventional full review of the latest Cerato. Simone focuses on what's different in this new model. The Kia Cerato GT, also known as the Kia Forte in other markets around the world.
Number 1: The Sibling
Styling cues familiar from the Stinger include a grille that has a very similar shape, wraparound taillights, similarly creased bonnet and a generally more aggressive stance.
Number 2: The Engine
The engine is one of the latest additions to the Kia Cerato GT it’s a turbocharged 1.6 with 150 kW of power and 265 Nm of torque. Aside from offering significantly more power and torque, the new turbo unit also provides all that twisting force from just 1500 revs, so you actually get to use it pretty much all the time.
Number 3: The Gearbox
The Cerato GT comes with a new transmission and it’s a 7-speed dual-clutch one. Aside from having an extra gear which allows more favourable revs selection, dual-clutch units are famous for being very fast thanks to its two clutches. It also contributes to a slight improvement in fuel consumption.
Number 4: New Trim
The GT is a new top trim level and it stands above the previously flagship Sport+. It also adds styling and interior features and loads of goodies along with a more modern powertrain.
Number 5: The Interior
The interior is so much better in the latest Cerato, and even better again in this top GT trim.

Wow, looks nice. I really like hatchbacks over common SUV. From the rims to the interior, I like it all. I would like that in a manual though. Sadly here in USA, cars are fading away. The new Top 5 is good. Hits all the basics. Keep up the great work!

I like the new look.. it looks really slick.. 1.6 Turbo is fairly efficient on it's own.. i have a manual in the Elantra Sport & gets better than 6.8L /100kilo based on how I'm feeling on that particular day 😆💢 most say Simone you are one Gorgeous Lady ❤️😄👋🏾

Kia Cerato GT. Love it. I suppose it comes down to Euro dour Styling versus International 'Chic'. And as you infer, it's basically Kia's blood brother of my wife's Hyundai [PD] i30 SR Premium Turbo Petrol 1.6 DCR. (bloody stupid name). Of course the 'GT'' clearly tips its hat & gives a nod to the much vaunted Stinger [saw one last month at of all places LOCH-NESS Scotland when travelling on a coach tour (& mixing with ordinary folk). My 'dearest' later said "I thought you were snapping The Lock rather than a car."] ANYWAY ->.Re your new format, it's very good and to the point (unlike me). HOWEVER. I'd also appreciate it if you'd continue to interpose your 'regular' mini tests of which I've become quite a long term fan.

Improved economy mainly due to better torque curve, I reckon. Engine revs less, pumps less fuel into cylinders and internal friction effect is reduced because the pistons do fewer up and down movements. Less piston travel = less work = better fuel economy.

They have very low margins for KIA Australia so that they can get & maintain market share in Australia, in some cases they even lose a little bit of money on KIA sales so that they can get more of them on the road and be seen out and about as a form of subtle subconscious advertising/marketing

The best way to go is with the 2.0 liter and manual 6 speed. Those are made to last and give no problems at all for the entire life of that GREAT CAR.

Why on earth would you opt for a manual, if you could afford the dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox (with paddles, if you really want to change gears "manually'). Sure, there are those who claim that the DCT's are troublesome, but with a 7-year warranty..........

They have gone for the cheaper engine and added a turbo. The older GDI 2l engine still better and will last longer. Cerato's have actually gone backwards since 2015 SLi model.
