That side heat protector is actually not needed now in this model.. the exhaust pipe is routed underneath the engine compared to previous model bikes where the pipe was on the side.. that's a huge difference in my opinion :) .. Yup that matte grey/orange combo is fixed for my purchase glad i waited to book new 390 :)

One more important difference is that the exhaust header pipe is under the engine rather than beside your left calf. It will be much more comfortable to ride in summer and the radiator cooling system is different.

Deno. U failed to notice the exhaust pipes(snakes). Now they go completely from the engine to the bottom. Previously it was from the engine then curves to the left side towards the riders legs. This is an important update coz it use to lash heat on rides legs.

What I feel is that grey is sexy and all the youth will agree,it seems a lot aggressive and also extremely compatible to speedy bike,a glimpse at it and people will go crazy.However I feel it's a bit too much with the orange and it creates a big contrast.I must say white colour and grey Matt would kill everyone.The white seems nice it has more space with the graphic area.Overall grey is bang but would have been great with white or less orange

You forgot to mention that the bend pipe of both the bikes i.e 250 and 390 is now running underneath the engine which is supposed to eliminate the heat which cooks the rider's thighs.
