at the end of the day, all the numbers the german manufacturers throw out against this car and how it might not look up to par on paper doesn't matter when your benz is sitting in a shop for half it's life. this car is a fantastic daily and won't let you down.
@MeynMotorGroup4 жыл бұрын
I love German cars a lot I have nothing against them I know many owners that have had a great reliable ownership experience with them I just hate how everything is about paper and specs and numbers its just depressing. Everyone wants to make something out to be the best when a best car doesn't exist. I also hate how reviewers just brush of Japanese and Korean cars even if they do certain things objectively better than a German rival. Just be objective and not freaking biased all the time give credit where credit is due

Just picked up my 2020 ES 350 F Sport a few weeks back, I’m absolutely loving it so far! Ultra White with the Circuit Red interior, but the triple beams really seal the deal for me. In all fairness, the number of vehicles I’ve driven is limited, but I’ve personally never experienced a car that accelerates as directly and effortlessly as this - it’s what really ‘sold’ it to me as soon as I test drove it! Plus as someone who has been so fixated on the LC 500, it’s pretty awesome to have so many - mostly aesthetic - similarities that you’re able to interact with on a daily basis. Keep up the great content man!

Great review, great review! You just nailed it. Toyota/Lexus is just the best combination of affordable to premium sedans on the market. I rented a 2019 Camry SE which most would consider to be an entry level sedan, but this car feel anything but entry level. It's composed, decently quiet and when you step on the accelerator, it will scoot fast. I've passed 4 cylinder turbo BMWs with about 240hp that cost more than $40k without a hint of strain or drama. The Camry feels planted and solid ALL THE TIME. Couple the chassis, handling, performance and build quality of the Camry with rock solid reliability and you have an indisputable winner.

I drove Honda Accords for years (until 2013 when they removed the wishbone suspension and ruined the ride quality). I always thought it was foolish to spend more for a so-called "luxury" sedan because the Accord was an amazing car: handling, ride, room, etc.. The Camry is the same.

Great review, as always! Had 30,000 miles on 2017 ES350 totaled by feral pig (!); now 8,000 miles on 2019 ES 300h. Totally different cars!! 2017: a really good car. 2019: a GREAT car! Just wow. Liked 'em both, BUT 2019 with new platform DEFINITELY a couple of notches higher, feels more substantial,. - Wider frame, firmer feel on road, particularly corners. It just feels solid! 2017 very comfortable, a little wobbly in turns. - Interior larger, much improved dashboard layout, bigger screen, more interior room - lotsa little things: shifter firmer and more solid, pumping gas doesn't stop with two gallons left to fill, doors opening and shut more solid, Result: driving habits changed. More relaxed, more deliberate, more careful, park and drive in open spaces, avoid the lane jockeys and speed burners.Why? Because every time I'm in the car I really appreciate all the thought that went into creating this....dare I say it....work of automobile art. EXCELLENT gas mileage, smaller tank (13 gallons), REAL averages low 30's no pussyfooting in town, low to mid 40's freeway, I drive cruise control 60, sometimes 65. (Lexus avg. mileage 2.2.5 lower than shown odisplay ) Regrets: only that my car doesn't have all the luxury features it deserves: automatically closing doors, back seat massage, popup window sunscreens, heated rear seats, automatic ice chest with drinks (don't need Mark Levinson with poor hearing). Only other car I'd consider: Lexus LS 500h for the luxury and ride, twice as much, roughly same interior room. Where's that lottery ticket??

That is awesome my friend! Glad you like it and thanks so much for sharing your ownership thoughts on both cars. Appreciate you watching like always
@mrsj14174 жыл бұрын
I have a 2019 ES 300h as well, only 4k miles because I work from home now. I share many of your observations and if I may, here are my own: - It IS better than my 2013 in handling and ride; I'd say about 15-20% better. It drives more like a Honda Accord now, not as sloppy and loose as it used to be. - I like the new dash setup as well, except for the Frankenstein bolts on the pod. The 12" screen is great and as most people have said, the touchpad is horrific. I avoid it at all costs. - I don't like the new coupe-like styling obsession that everyone is using for their sedans now. I have to duck my head getting in. It's a sedan; stop trying to make it something it's not. - My driving habits have changed as well! Frankly this could be due to the pandemic and not driving as much anymore, but I just cruise along in peace now; idiots that want to go by at 80 mph are more than welcome to and I just think how much calmer and serene I am than I used to be. - My mileage is about the same, mid-30s around town but on average I would say mid- to high- 40s; I regularly get in the 50s if I can drive around town without endless red lights. - Mine was one of the first built in the USA once all hybrids switched over and sorry, it is NOT built as well as my old one. Condensation inside; moonroof noises/ center console squeak. IT IS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD. I hate to say it but i just KNEW this would happen. - It's a nice car but due to the difficulty getting in/out and my age, I most likely will not buy it when the lease is over. The new RX might/should be out by then and I will check that out. If I had to do it over again, would I buy it again? No, due to reasons listed above and also because it's too similar to the one I had and I kind of want something different. Would I recommend it? Again no, I would recommend the RX over this; 80-90% of the comfort and quietness, with more other things to offer.

Dude awesome review. Would love to drive a 2020 with 302 hp. As you know mine is a 2013 which has 268 hp, so would be nice to feel the increase. Mine has the 6 speed transmission, the extra 2 overdrive speeds give you slightly better mpg on the highway. Quality and craftsmanship are amazing. Mine now has almost 38k miles, still barely broken in ! No SUV’s for me. Gas mileage really sucks with SUV’s. Same with mine, no folding rear seats. And yes I’m a golfer, definitely fits my full cart style bag in the trunk and could fit 2 bags with no problem. I also have the same the White pearl paint

Exhaust Sports Auto yes my 2013 ES350 is an amazing car and value. Nearly turning 38k miles (I bought it April 2019 with 30,009 miles). The original owner Took delivery of it in August 2012, so essentially when I bought it it was seven years old, Which was probably a Sunday only car Ha Ha Ha Ha. My fit and finish is still remarkable not a squeak or rattle in the car. Everything is like brand new.To be honest I’m not a fan of the dashboard of the 2020 in front of the driver, the Cowl. Looks too small. Mine has the premium edition which has leather heated and cooled seats, blind spot monitoring and park assist. I have navigation But to be honest I just Google map everything with my iPhone 8 +, so much easier. I was parked side-by-side with one the other day the front peak is a lot sleaker but overall I’m still happy with my 2013. The car holds it’s value terrifically and I’m happy. Little pissed off because my car virtually had not one scratch or blemish until I parked in Brooklyn NY about a week ago and the next day I saw my rear bumper had like a 2 inch scuff which actually tore off the Paint covering. Other than that, I love the white StarFire pearl finish from what I heard it’s triple coated and it’s truly remarkable. It has that wonderful metallic sparkle like no other car I’ve ever had

I just bought a 2011 ES350 in the exact same color combination inside and out. I actually like the interior in my car better than the 2020. But it is true, the older 350's like mine are a dream to drive, but don't go very fast around the turns! I found a video here on KZbin that had a car with the EXACT same features as mine and they had the original sticker and the MSRP in 2011 was $43,000 - so the price has not gone up much in 9 years. The only thing I think Lexus should do is include the Mark Levinson sound system on all their cars - they are still charging a lot more for that option.

It's not even a year old and I have condensation inside sometimes, moonroof noises, squeaks in the headliner, that type of thing. If you look at the J.D. Power survey awards of the best manufacturing plants, Toyota wins in Japan and Canada, but alas the U.S. plant is never mentioned. There's a reason for that. I agree my friend and yes I found the interior to be pretty accommodating I personally had no issues and plenty of head room but of course try it out for yourself. Only thing I really didn't like is not being able to fold down the rear seats especially for a FWD based sedan. Thanks again
@AJ888742 ай бұрын
According to consumer reports the previous gen actually had less problems (more reliable) than this newer gen.
@tonysterbenc17 күн бұрын
True, but it's the difference between very good and excellent. Interestingly, most of the new-gen TNGA platform vehicles have been just slightly less reliable than their predecessors, including the old and new Camry. The Corolla has escaped that trend.

Hi, I appreciate the your reviews, but when reading consumer reviews for this car in 2019-2020, I see a few reviews about the sound system is terrible. Your thoughts?

Thanks so much Matt and that's subjective but this car even with the regular system sounds fine to me the ML is one of the best I've heard but forgot to mention in this video this is the regular system and I dont mind it. Yes very common issue on the 2019. They fixed it for 2020. I have the mark lev on my 2020 and it’s great but the sound in the base trim with nav is also great! No issues for this model year but be careful if buying a 2019.

Hello and thank you for the amazing reviews, Do you recommend the LS 2015, GS 2017, or ES 2019? I prefer the GS & ES models for the lower cost maintenance and fuel economy than the V8 LS. But is there a big difference in the level of ride comfort between them? * I have a 2014 Avalon and I want better comfort and lower road noise also, what tires do you recommend for best comfort? @Exhaust Sports Auto
@MeynMotorGroup4 жыл бұрын
I think a CPO LS 460 would be quietest but coming from an Avalon, the 2019-2020 ES would be perfect, try getting a higher trim like the Ultra Luxury as they use thicker glass apparently. The new ES is truly almost on LS levels of refinememt and better to keep long term
@BeesonsCars4 жыл бұрын
The GS kinda sucks compared to this ES now. Had a 2017 GS350 Premium and while a great car, the interior felt lacking for the money. The new ES does not at all.

its more like AUDI A6 from the size and interior and price BUT you can have the A6 with so much more engine options upt to over 500hp and V8 . Lexus is lame in their engine lineup. At least they should have put in the V6Hybrid from the GS450H !!!
@tonysterbenc17 күн бұрын
Except it was never like the A6 in price. I shopped both, and the A6 is considerably more expensive even if you settle for a small four-cylinder engine.

I traded my '17 ES350 for a '20 ES350. The '17 had 17" wheels and wasa much smoother ride than the '20 as the '20 has 18" wheels. Both cars only got 20 mpg. I also own an '11 which gets 19 mpg.
@MeynMotorGroup4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow nice glad to see you experienced 3 generations of the ES. Shocked you like the ride of the 17 more but I think in 16 they revised a few things when they refreshed it so maybe it rides better than a 13 and closer to this 2020 model but not sure.

@tonysterbenc17 күн бұрын
I see this question was nearly a year ago, so I don't know if this helps anymore. But... ES 350: More reliable, better dealer experience, more pleasing engine except for pricey top G80 model, roughly $10,000 cheaper trim for trim. G80: More premium overall in both looks and behavior, more modern, better handling, faster with the optional twin-turbo V6.
