@p_enta50124 жыл бұрын
I dont know if they did, but hopefully, they just grabbed the AWD system from the GS and put it on the ES unchanged. It handles very very well and would do the 3.5L V6 justice. They really need a new V6 though, the 3.5L is 15 years old now and very underpowered.
@TheBreakfastLover4 жыл бұрын
@@p_enta5012 it's definitely not the true rear-wheel torque-vectoring that was found in the GS-F or in Acura's SH-AWD. The Lexus ES AWD uses a fake system that just brakes the inner wheels while turning, it doesn't have a real torque-vectoring rear axle.

I've driven both a 2018 and a 2019 ES 350, and it is amazing how Lexus improved it between the generations. It feels so much nicer on the inside and rides a lot smoother - not that the older car wasn't smooth, it's just that Lexus made the ride a little less busy this time, with less body roll and less jiggly motions over the bumps. Awesome car and great to see your take on it.

We currently own a 2020 ES350 Luxury trim model as it was difficult for the dealer to locate an ultra luxury trim with the specific color combination for us back in February. I agree with all of the features you have shown with this trim especially the extremely difficult to maneuver infotainment system. The only 2 points that I find Lexus is somewhat lacking compared to its competitors (for example the 2015 C400 4MATIC we used to own, purchased new in 2014) are: 1--The trunk can be opened with a push of the button from the driver seat. However, it cannot be closed with the push of the same button compared to the C400. It can however, be open or close with the foot gesture under the rear bumper. 2--The only USB connection to play MP3 files is located in the compartment right below the CD player. When the flash drive is inserted, the lid cannot be closed so it is somewhat in the way and can be knocked off if you are not too careful during driving. However, I do find that the Mark Levinson system in this Lexus sounds much better than the Burmester sound system in our previous C400 and the Bang & Olufsen in the SL550.

Great review Joe.. as you know I have a 2013 ES350 with only 39k miles, by far the most reliable and dependable car ive ever owned and I’m on#20 since i turned 17 in 1981! Mine has the Luxury package, 17 in rims, doesn’t have the Marc levenson sound system, I have the Bose system which is great. Missing all the bells & whistles like the Ultra Luxury package but the Starfire Pearl triple coated white paint is remarkable. This one will be a keeper for 10+ years we’ll into my retirement days. The original owner took delivery in summer of 2012, so basically its been on the road for just over 8 years and Believe me it rides like it just came off the showroom floor! Tight and quiet. I only did 2 synthetic oil changes since I bought it in April 2019 and changed one TPM Sensor... the build quality is unparalleled, fit & finish is amazing. THere are times when i wish I bought a IS350 for the nimbler handling, etc. but I’m happy with this ES350, large trunk and interior space definitely wouldn’t have gotten that with an IS. If I want to get sporty, I put it in Sport mode and the steering tightens up and throttle response kicks up, it really transforms the car into a more aggressive sportier car. ECO mode is a mush, feels like it turns into a 4 cylinder engine, the throttle response disappears. I rarely use ECO, most often i keep it in Normal mode.

Ultra Luxury apparently does not include massaging seats in Lexus’s book.

They want you to spend more and get the LS.

50,000 dollars and you dont get massaging seats. My GS doesnt have them either. not even my LX has them, its only from 4 years ago. They need to look at what people want.

No seat heaters in the back, either. They get a lot of complaints in online forums about it.

I like the ES350 in my opinion I compare it to the Mercedes C300. An in my opinion I think Lexus has Mercedes beat especially using a V6 over a 4 cylinder but 1 issue I have with Lexus is track pad for the infotainment system.

Can you please review cars along with someone who is petite? For people 5 feet tall and under, those headrests come all the way above their head and where those seat sides hug your torso, they actually fold our shoulders inwards. Also, please always show how far the actual seat adjustments go - how high and low, how much forward they can go, and whether the seat bottom's front sides can be tilted down to allow for the leg to reach the accelerator without blood circulation being cut off under the knee. These are extremely important parameters, especially when we're talking about spending as much money for the car as could buy a small house.

The Luxury and Ultra Luxury trim levels have a driver's seat cushion whose forward edge tilts infinitely up and down like the footrest of a recliner, and all the way down, it will get out of your way. I believe there's also an obscure feature in the seat travel where you can access a whole other range of seat travel that's friendier to shorter people, but best you ask your dealer to confirm that.
