I don't find it boring compared to SUVs and other sedans. Not like I was looking for a race car, then I'd get myself a corvette or something. *I do wish they'd bring more cushioning back. Who needs vents under them? Upper vents on the back are great. At least make the bottom all cushion; heck, the Camry is more comfy bc of this

I just bought a 2019 ES 350, with 13k. It's basically brand new. I LOVE IT! The ONLY reason I bought a Lexus is their reputation for ride, comfort, quietness and reliability. You are 1000% correct on the F Sport. Absolutely no reason for it. I plan on keeping it for years and years. AMD, your are the best! Your explanations are simple and to the point. Drove about half a dozen cars in the $45-$65k range this week. 2022 ES350 felt, subjectively, like the highest quality vehicle in this segment. The naturally aspirated V6 is just smooth as butter. Steering feel is good, ride is comfortable, but the chassis is good and does not ever feel clumsy.

Update: I did purchase a 2023 Lexus ES 350, and I love it! It's so smooth, I took your advise and did a break in oil change at around 1,000 miles and also did another one at 5,000. I will continue to get oil change at every 5K. I upgraded the air filter to a K&N, and have ceramic coated the entire car, also because of what you said about the "F" Sport Trim, I didn't get that one, and I have spoken to a guy that did buy the "F" Sport Trim and seats are uncomfortable is confirmed! The 2023 model took out the mouse pad, now it's touch screen. Because of your video's I chose the best car out there and am taking care of my new car like I have OCD.

Several years ago, I was about to administer a Gulfstream G550 check ride to the Chief Pilot & Director of Aviation (DOA) for BMW. Since these men were in Management, they didn't fly that much. I could tell they were nervous. So I began asking questions about the BMW manufacturing. "How many plants do y'all have?" The DOA counted on his fingers and said, "Ve have 13 plants around de Vorld." "Which one has the best quality control?" Without hesitation he announced: "LEXUS!!!" I said, "But we're talking about BMW." He answered, "I know, Ve make good motors & transmissions, but ve can't match them for fit and finish." I thought that was an excellent endorsement for LEXUS. And, yes, they passed their check ride.

By far the best car I have ever owned- drove my '14, for 9 years (purchased in '13), and finally received my '22, last month- I didn't think it was possible for them to improve upon my previous, ES350, however, lexus managed to make the car even better. I will never purchase another car brand again- i've been too spoiled by driving a completely worry free vehicle. I couldn't agree with you more- this is a car I buy brand new and hold onto for years. I think what astonished me the most by lexus, was that after driving the car for 9 years, and having well over 100k miles, how well the body, interior materials held up. Aside from some minor creases in the driver seat leather, it essentially looked as good as the day I drove it off the dealership lot. German cars are amazingly fun to drive- however, they just don't hold up like a lexus overtime. Great video! I really appreciate the information you provide.

Thank you for reviewing the Lexus. I have a 2014 Avalon Hybrid and love it. So far, 140,000 miles and it is still perfect! Get 44 mpg all day every day around town. When I read that the Avalon had reduced the gas tank size to give more trunk space, I was not happy. Now I can easily get 600 miles between fill-ups on trips. I didn't want a smaller gas tank! Now, its a moot point since Toyota will be discontinuing the Avalon. So... I guess I'll move up to the Lexus Hybrid when my car needs replacing. Thank you again for your great videos.

I can tell you the transmission is absolutely smooth, there is a bit of difference between both when it comes to shifts. My wife’s Highlander doesn’t quite shift as smoothly as my Lexus with the same engine, transmission combo. I really hope that Toyota/Lexus will never kill off the 3.5 power plant it would be a big mistake.

The recently released the IS 500, with the V8 and they said this is the last car with V8. Unfortunately everything is changing towards "electrification" and the 3.5 V6 will go away at some point. Not Toyota's fault, is just the world we live in now. But I do expect/hope this will still be available for 5 years at least, and then a 2025 Lexus will still be great in 2040 if properly maintained :) .

As a brand new owner of a 2022 ES 300H, you nailed it all. Glad I'm on the third gen as I've had no issues. I wasn't a fan of this car on day one, but it's grown on me and the refinement is so top notch, it actually makes me want to drive it more often. I just wish it had AWD. A fully loaded, with comparable accessories as the ES Camry XSE Hybrid is almost 40 grand. Most fully loaded used Avalons are between 30/39k. With the base ES starting out at 42k and the base ESh at 44k, it boggles my mind why someone just wouldn't get it over the Camry and Avalon.

Regarding the 8 Speed Automatic Transmission. I have a 2021 Avalon Limited(bought in July) w/the V6. What I do when driving around on errands, etc, is to switch to 'Manual', instead of "D" and go thru the gears that way. Put it in 3rd gear(let 1st and 2nd do their thing) and then shift up to 4th or 5th when needed since it's all local city roads with low speed limits. This method keeps you 'engaged' with the driving experience. Of course, if I get lazy, I just leave it in "D".

You should do a comparison between the 2016 ES and the 2019 ES for your viewers. The 2016 can be had for little money and most second hand buyers will find it a much better buy. This fits within the budget demographic of your viewers. It doesn’t have the sloping rear roof so more headroom than the 2019. As you said in your other video that the 2017 Camry is the best year Camry, this applies to the ES as well.

Thank you for the info. My "20" RAV4 has the 8 speed transmission and no problems! Up shifting.....very well, downshifting is done when it's needed. One thing I found is a little......not so great. Step into the throttle, the trans will downshift quickly, smoothly and your off! Let up on the throttle quickly and it takes more than a few seconds for the transmission to upshift back to a comfortable speed for the engine. It's as if it down shifted one or more speeds, then it's reluctant or slow to decide to shift back up one or more speeds whether or not your applying the throttle again. This is in the "normal" mode, haven't tried the trans in "sport" or "econ" modes. Other than that, yes it has an 8 speed trans, and it uses all of them!

They said no and that I needed a new 12 volt battery. over $500! which was quite a shock. Other than that, the car was very reliable.

OMG, thank you so much at 4:23. I just bought a 2019 ES 350 w/30k miles and was worried about the shifting and thought my transmission was slipping. It only happens when slowing down, under 20 mph, & coming to a stop. I've tried turning off the traction control and cycling through different drive modes and was going to do a transmission service at the Lexus dealership. My passengers can't really feel it, however, it's a minor annoyance to me. I feel so much better now knowing that this is common with these models.

Completely agree with buying a Toyota or Lexus for non sporty stuff, I got my new ES300H as a comfy cruiser and that's exactly what it is. Coming from a 2015 Mercedes C class(Luxury package) I'm completely surprised on how the ES is noticeably comfier and quieter. I'm just absolutely in love with it and I don't miss the Mercedes at all! Great job, Lexus.

I disagree on the comfort of the bucket seats. I drive the same 2019 model ES350 daily and i love the seats. I prefer the sport seats over the normal luxury trim style seats. I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer, it think it boils down to body size, age ect. For me, the bucket seats hold you better due to the bolstering style. Good review by the way!! Ohhh and as far as the road noise you mentioned, that’s a easy fix. When you’re due for new tires, go for a different brand other than the stock tires. I have Bridgestone quite track tires and the car drives like on ☁️ and quite with the new tire set up!

Great review. I have a 2014 ES in mint condition. Only 26k miles. I often look at getting something new but quite frankly there’s no reason to do so. Still rides super smooth and maintenance costs have been minimal. Getting ready to replace tires simply because they are almost 9 years old and could be safety issues? At least that’s what a few articles say online. Would love others to chime in if they would swap tires now or hold out another year or two.

-Thank you. I was not aware of the remote start from the key FOB, I thought that this was only available through the app. My wife is relieved since I always sent her out as my remote start. - The wiper service mode changed in 2016, prior to then you had to pull up on the arms to put them in service mode. This nearly proved disastrous to me when we switched from a 2010 to a 2016. - The 2016 may have been the worst handling ES we've owned ('91, '94, '02, '10, '16, '19, '22). It was a mushmobile on the highway and this was corrected in our 2019 ES FSport. Our '19, and now '22, are a joy to drive in Sport mode on the highway. - The only reasons we switched from the '19 to the '22 were the touch screen and AA/Carplay. We were told the '19 would get an update to AA in the '19 and it never did. - I agree the touchpad was wonky and never a great idea. -I never liked the FSport designation. I have owned a 2010 IS-F and a 2020 RC-F, and I think the FSport designation confuses the differences between these models, the IS-F and RC-F being elegant Beasts and nothing like the FSports!

Nice video! I've been driving SUVs for quite some time and had a 2020 NX300 Black Line Edition....until a lady rammed me with a Corolla. The NX was totaled, so I took the insurance check and bought a 2017 GS350 AWD and man, I didn't realize just how much I missed a sedan. I'll never go back to an SUV again. Excellent video and presentation on the Lexus ES, I had my 2007 RX 400h in for a timing belt service and I was given a ES hybrid with 103 miles on it and I was very impressed with the ride quality and the fit and finish of the interior materials and I was able to easily figure out and use the controls coming from a 14 year older Lexus model, but most importantly I drove over a 110 miles in Kansas City on $ 4.50 or a gallon and a half of gasoline which is way better than the 5 gallon of gasoline that my RX400H would have used for the same trip, Peace and Blessing to all

I have a 21 Avalon. He is right. The V6 is great. I hope it goes 400k miles. My negatives for the Avalon-Touring: 1. Small gas tank, it should've been 16 gallon 2. No sun glass holder. 3. Terrible door storage. I do not mind the 8 speed as much as I did in 2019 when I test drive a 4 cylinder Camry. V6 is good, quiet enough cabin, infotainment accessibility is good. The jbl system is surprisingly good. I did drive the es but didn't want to spend for a new one and the older one had really bad infotainment systems.

I really don't mind the touch pad on my 2019 ES. The problem with it being a touch screen is how far away the screen is. I like the location of the screen for visibility but it's not convenient for a touch screen. So that leaves some non-touch screen control and as far as that goes the touch pad is way better than the alternatives. It's much better than the sliding joystick thing on the previous generation ES and it's WAY better than the dial type controls from the German brands. The touch screens also attract fingerprints. I love the back end. I've heard directly from other owners that don't pay for the remote start that starting with the key doesn't work if you don't have the subscription.

On the newer models they moved the screen forward closer to the driver so it's easier to touch. I have a 2019 es as well. I don't mind the touch pad but sometimes it can be a bit of a distraction.

We have owned 7 Lexus of the years. Last November I bought a fully loaded 2020 Lexus GS350 AWD with F-sport. One of the last made before it was cancelled. For many of the same reasons the ES is a fantastic car, the GS is far more superior in quality of materials and much more fun to drive. Back then I paid nearly 10k less than sticker which is around what people are paying for a fully loaded ES. I could careless about technology and prefer drive, cost to maintain, and reliability. Great review.

I have a 2010 Lexus GS350 AWD. I bought it from the Lexus dealer in 2012 CPO at 12K miles. It was a lease car. Now, it is slightly over 100K miles. It runs great but It burns oil at 1 to 1.5 Quarts per 2000 miles (The low oil light turn on before oil change at 5000 miles since 2 years ago. It did not happened before.). I always change “Synthetic” 10W30 oil every 5000 miles. I don’t drive much so I may not change oil for more than 6 months until it reaches 5000 miles I live in Portland, OR and drive only few miles in the weekdays before and after work. I don’t warm up the car before I drive since it is not very cold here even in the winter. I tried Liqui Moly, Bg109, Techron Fuel cleaner many times, it seemed to improve right after I used it. But it will go back to the same issues after awhile. Is it any low cost solution I can do to solve the problem? Many Thanks

My 1998 ES 300 bought new in October of 1997 has been nothing but flawless. Every single option in the package, including the Nakamichi stereo and 6 disc CD changer working just like the day I bought it. Body and paint are still perfect in pearl white. I have maintained dealer maintenance throughout its life. The only thing I did not do was use it for winter driving in the northern Mid West. But in 2017 it was shifted into full time usage. And today it still is a wonderful vehicle. I am in the market for a new Lexus once again. I dislike hybrid vehicle’s because of all the unknowns and with Lexus adding hybrid to ALMOST everything, I have been looking at the GX 460 and the good old ES 350 once again. I originally was thinking SUV, but the gas mileage is just too restrictive and besides I am 65 years old. I also own an American built 2005 diesel pickup that can handle my heavy lifting needs. So thus far, it’s looking like the old reliable ES might end up being the replacement in Pearl White, of course. I will make make one last note here. I could not agree more about your comments about regular periodic maintenance. My ES was given maintenance above what the book calls for and it certainly has been a proven method towards keeping this care purring! Oil changes save big repairs every time.
