Y’all’s comments make me laugh. This vehicle is marketed to one type of person.. old money. Reliable,slightly fashionable, muted luxury. It is not supposed to stand out, it is not meant to be a show off toy. This is a tool to be used to take golf clubs to the country club and have the ability to drive on the sand at the beach house. Want something more exciting? Then do it. But it won’t be a Lexus. (Current owner of multiple Lexus products)

It's going to be a really sad day when the GX loses the v8 and its body on frame. I hope this never happens, amazing car. I rather pay 2-3k on fuel a year for such a solid and beautiful car.

This is why I love Lexus/Toyota. They keep thing same for very long time. I can simply buy 14 gx for around 20k then change front grill, headlamps and taillamps plus minor fix/upgrade. You will have almost same look as 20 gx for under 30k. I changed 14 4Runner just like 20 model for 1/3 of price.

As a past owner, enjoyed the GX overall. Smooth, quiet and reliable. A few things I wish it had -- HVAC controls OUTSIDE of the menu buttons (extremely annoying to have to go into the screen menu to get to air fan speed); and heated steering wheel. Brake dive is also errible (almost disconcerting) when you have to stop suddenly. Not into the fake wood steering wheels either.

Toyota/Lexus need to move the volume and tune knobs up, because there are some people who like to sit with their knees high and wide, where their knee would tend to bump the knob. Especially the front passenger.

Check out the grill , looks like the Fukushima plant melt down caused Lexus designers to come up with humongous grill to cool off the melt down . Soon the hood and fenders will be covered with grill .

This reminds me of when Volvo was trying to keep the original XC90 going from 2003-2014 with minimal changes. I have a 13 XC90 Because my wife didn’t like all the newfangled stuff in new cars. But it’s weird to see a car maker keep the same design for over a decade. Infiniti is doing the same thing with QX80

Ok we get all the great things this vehicle has but you have to talk about that it’s time to upgrade the interior specially the infotainment sistem, i get it you talk about new features but they are not top noch with now days tech it’s a Lexus,I mean the 2020 Highlander going to have a better interior and features when it comes to technology. Phil Campeau it’s shared with the 4Runner too. The GX Is a Prado in other markets. Also Toyota even says it’s shared with the 4Runner. I think they know their product.

The only reason to make so many compromises on road handling, braking, steering feeling etc is if you plan to do some serious offroading. How on earth can you go offroading with such a low front bumper? The Prado is a much better choice.

I thought about getting a prado front clip for my GX, but I worry about stability. When the cruise is set at 100, the front end will get light. The approach angle will be better

Doug Montgomery I am not sure anything from the front end of a Prado would fit the GX460. When I cruise at 100 in my prado (not actually cruising, more like a suicide attempt) everything gets light, even at 80. However I guess the suspension setup is different for the Lexus. But still, if I wanted to cruise around 100, I would definitely go for the RX.

Still has an old look about it. I see my 08 GX 470 everywhere here. Nothing new other than second & third row seats slide. Minimal leg room for all but front seats. Few owners enjoy that swinging back door. A great trucks worst idea ever.
