Love this car too. The overall design inside and out is best in class I think. The only negative I see, is this particular interior color on the Signature. As someone who is colorblind, there just isn’t enough contrast in this brown/black combo. On the other hand, the Parchment/Black combo is extremely attractive, and really makes all the details in its design stand out. As a side note, this car can handle 255/35r20 tires on 20” rims and looks absolutely stunning. Thanks guys for another great review.

I too own a Mazda6 Grand Touring Reserve and love everything about it except one: That infotainment system is a bit of an eyesore and pretty dated. Its competitors, the Accord, Camry and Sonata, all have that infotainment screen sort of built into the dash, while on the Mazda the screen sits on top of the dash like some sort of after-market addon. Also, it's slow and doesn't offer touchscreen once you are moving. That big round knob on the center console you have to use when you are driving is a poor design choice. Having said that, the Mazda6 is luxurious, handles well, has nice acceleration, is quiet on the highway, and a joy to drive around.

There are majors problems with the Mazda 6 Signature. The red color NEVER needs waxing, this wastes all my waxes. This car NEVER breaks down so I miss my dealer. Too many people keep bothering me asking where did I get such a beautiful car. Finally, compared with my Cadillac CTS in gadgets the Mazda Signature is $50,000 less. Where am I going to spend all that savings? Oh, I forgot one other problem. I keep beating Mustangs, Chargers, Camaros, and Harleys off the stop light. This performance makes my tires squeel too much (watch those cops).

I have a suggestion: you guys should suggest which trim is has the most bang for the buck or go and share how you would spec out your vehicle. Maybe have a rating system and keep track of specs of all different cars in the class and compare them in the respective parts Of the video. For example, Mason would have a little subtitle or diagram or something will all the legrooms in the class and where the car tested slots in. It could really add another notch to your already amazing reviews. Drew, to you regret not buying the Mazda 6? Stay safe and enjoy your day!

having spent the last 3 days here in lockdown researching vehicles, I 'd say go with the Grand Touring version of this. It goes slightly over 30k if you want navigation and the red paint, but you get the 250hp engine. @19.07: The 2.5 litre turbo engine can run either premium gas (93 octane) or regular gas (87 octane). With premium gas, the engine outputs 250 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. This was one of my top picks when car shopping a while back. I came away impressed with the Mazda style inside and outside. The interior was beautiful w the real wood and brown leather. That being said, I noticed the ergonomics were disappointing. The touchscreen locks out when you aren’t in park. Plus the Mazda6 had poor interior space due to it’s design and a small trunk. I also wasn’t a fan of the 360 camera quality and the hud was good but I didn’t think it was big enough. So ultimately I had to slice it off my list.

The Mazda6 is a beautiful vehicle. IMO it's the best looking entry in the mainstream midsize sedan category. And the Signature trim interior is impressive. But the competition in a shrinking market category is stiff, especially from the Honda Accord 2.0L (Touring) and the Camry NA V6 (XSE and TRD). Those looking for scalding performance from the "6" are likely to be disappointed even with the 2.5L turbo 4 banger. It's just not there in terms of straight line acceleration where the Mazda6 is almost a full second slower to 60 mph than the Accord with its detuned Civic Type R engine and the Camry's NA V6. The deficit stems from several factors. First, Mazda's aging 6 speed AT is quite adequate for daily driving but it trails the Honda's 10 speed and the Camry's 8 speed units both in terms of performance and fuel economy. Second, the turbo 4 in the Mazda offers a huge dose of torque but taking advantage of it in a FWD sedan is challenging. To prevent torque steer and wheel hop Mazda has tuned the "6" to limit power under hard acceleration. Finally, the "6" is heavy, especially compared to the Accord (3582 lbs curb weight vs 3428.) It's even 10 lbs heavier than the Camry with its V6 engine. The weight disadvantage has other effects. Mazda, of course, is known for the handling of its vehicles. But neither Honda nor Toyota have been standing still with their current generation models. The Accord's lighter weight and excellent suspension coupled with its remarkable Type R derived engine makes its handling near or equal to the Mazda. And the Camry, especially with the suspension options of the TRD model, is much the same. The bottom line is that the Mazda6 is in serious need of a generational update. Its infotainment system is dated, even compared to the system in the Mazda3. The sunroof is small and the interior and cargo space are cramped compared to the competition. As the smallest mainstream independent auto manufacturer on the planet Mazda faced major challenges in terms of keeping up with the opposition. Hopefully, they will find a way to do more than giving the Mazda6 an appealing shape and an upscale interior.

@@kevinW826 I've heard that. And it may help the anemic sales of the Mazda6. (21K units in 2019.) But as far as I know there is no estimate of the release date for that model. I have a 2019 XC 5 GT Reserve with the same BOSE sound system and to hear its full brilliance you should play a piano concerto or symphony with the SIRIUS/XM satellite sound. Better by far than the Infinity QX 50 sound! HINT: Try pure 100 octane gas (empty tank 1st, then 1/2 fill up) and you WILL find power! But I pay $8.00 per gallon here in the Las Vegas valley so YMMV. This only works for the turbo engines. It is very apparent to me after using 100 octane gas that MAZDA has programmed its turbo-engined ECUs to take advantage of big octane gas. THANK YOU MAZDA!
@victorkonon4 жыл бұрын
14:30 when you are talking about 2.5 L no turbo vs turbo, don't forget to mention that no turbo generally means cheaper maintenance and better longevity. likely no turbo will have a better mpg. 2.5L regular engine on Mazda is not fast but plenty enough for the car. Of course, the turbo version is more torque, more HP, more fun. You should also check out windows' glass - just roll it halfway down and look at the edge. I believe modern upper-tier Mazdas have either double-pane glass windows or acoustically laminated glass windows... don't remember for sure which ones do and which don't. double pane glass makes a huge difference in cabin noise levels.

Mazda's new large vehicle architecture for the next gen 6, CX-5, and CX-9 won't be ready a few years. I also disagree comments about age. I think people these days are too focused on having 10"+ touchscreens than the actual interior.

@@panzer_TZ Mazda's infotainment is laggy and less intuitive than most in the industry. It's almost a knockoff of BMW's 2015 I-Drive system (no touchscreen, rotary dial for input, etc.). 6 speed transmissions are less fuel efficient than the 8 and 10 speed transmissions found in Honda, Toyota, Hyundai/Kia products. Seen some shaking/ vibration while on test drive, so the suspension is firm as wobble shows up on the cam video recorder. During the test drive did not show us the HUD heads-up display. It is not a quiet car nor luxury since able to feel the road bumps or uneven road surface. Going to get the 2020 Toyota Camry XSE V6 instead, maybe Camry TRD model it'll crush the Mazda 6. Only a small size single person would get a Mazda 3 which seem to have more going for it than the Mazda 6. No wonder Mazda having difficult time selling and Mazda depreciates faster in value. Note: 2017 Mazda 6 body style is sharpe, appealing and Sporty. In 2018, 2019 and 2020 Mazda made the front end look like a chunk of trash. Also the Info/ entertainment, Nav display should be mounted in the center just below the dashboard. It looks as though there is a Sore Thumb sticking up with the display up so high. More things to go wrong with those Shifter Paddles mounted on the steering column. Maybe Mazda should go back to the 626. Skip the b.s. $995 destination fee. The dealer has it on their lot and it is their fee .. passing the buck so don't fall for it.

Compared to what? It’s much better than the superb and insignia and not in the price range of a4/c/3
