I looked at two of these in Little Rock. The price is reasonable for stepping into a Mercedes. You get luxury plus the fun of it being an AMG, which means it is fun to drive! Great combination.

Hi, really nice review ! How did you find about the interior quality? Are the centre console and doors sturdy and robust? Many people have been saying that the interior quality isn't nice so i need a clarification !

Interior is pretty nice. It's not as premium feeling as maybe a C Class or E Class. There are some cheaper plastics. But everything looks nice and is put together well. So I'd say it's about average

A 35 cost more than a C class; I wouldn't consider it entry level. I ordered a 2021 A35; excited to get it. What sold me was the cool gadgets more than just for the badge.

Yeah the price can get up there quick. I found one sitting on the lot with only 4 option for 47.4K otd. (Night package, lite star, wireless go package and the upgraded 19 inch rim setup). Couldn’t find a pre ordered 21 for under 50 except used ones in Cali lol.

Since I don't own the car, I can't really say what I don't like about it. Everyone is going to have features they like and dislike, so I just go over the specs of the car and show the features offered. It's up to the buyer to find out what they may not like as much and the only way to find those out is to own it and daily drive it to see.

This class of car in general isn’t my favorite....you can definitely get much more car for the same money other places in the market if the badge isn’t important to you. Nothing against the A35 since it’s definitely a cool car, but I could think of 5 cars I’d rather have right off the bat for the same money.

Oh, $50k. Ok, these aren’t all necessarily direct competitors to the A35, but: 230i/M240i (2 door, moderately equipped), GTI/Golf R (and save some cash), Stinger GT/G70 3.3T (fully loaded), Giulia Ti (nearly fully loaded), Volvo S60 (moderately equipped). There’s 5 right there that personally, I’d rather have. If you held a gun to my head and I HAD to pick a car in this segment, though, I’d go A/S/RS3. I think Audi is still strongest in this entry level end of the luxury segment.

It’s also worth nothing you could move one step up in size to a C Class/A4/3 Series for that price, albeit lightly equipped with less power. I’d rather do that than go for one of these entry level models.

@@williamlong2682 The problem here is that you're thinking of the A Class as entry level, when really it's a high level car that just happens to be smaller. The interior is actually better than the very latest C Class, and it has the latest tech from Mercedes in it. Plus, it really does handle well, with sharp steering and a real aversion to understeer (unlike the S3/RS3). Just to show I'm not making all this up, here's a video of an A35 demolishing a BMW M235i Gran Coupe in handling: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnSyfGptiKt1jas It is on the expensive side, but if you want the combination of a top interior, great performance, handling and practicality, then there's nothing in your list that comes close. There is a new generation of Golf and Audi A3 coming along, so they might be better, but that remains to be seen.
