I do like the BMW X7 but if I were in the market for a luxury three row SUV I would personally have to go with this Mercedes GLS, I would get the V8 version though! :-)

I especially liked your description of how to use the steering wheel controls to change the display of the instrument panel. Other reviewers just glossed over this, and when one takes a test drive this function is baffling and the sales rep isn’t very helpful. I also liked your rundown of various packages and what they consist of. You have an easy relaxed manner, easy to comprehend the features; unlike some other YT guys (DDeM, RR, etc.)who shout and have their characteristic phrases while trying to be witty or cool. Would’ve been interesting to hear your wife speak about why she likes the X7 better. I was leaning toward it but now I’m set on a GLS. Thanks!!!

Great review. Vehicle is too big for city driving. I don’t understand the hate for the price, if it’s too expensive don’t buy. Personally, I like the size of the GLC/X3 which is perfect for living in the city.

FWIW, when most ISPs are capping initial video resolution to 720p, and even when the most popular iPhone (11) is still streaming max 720p, having quality content is still better.

I do film in 4K but it’s slower for editing and the file sizes are massive. This project in 4K would be over 250gb with render files as 1080 is only about 40 gb. I will still try. Thanks for watching. How about this, when I hit 100k subs, everything will be in 4K 😊

1080p is plenty good. Let’s not overburden our lives with 4K and other uber high-tech stuff that ain’t necessary. Kinda like this MB-GLS lol. I’d use 4K for special things like watching a good movie with the family so that it has a place and is appreciated

A rich family who's willing to pay a lot of money so they can drive a large Mercedes Benz SUV. They would be brand snobs who are willing to pay a lot for the MB badge. They want to show off to the world that they're superior & rich & special. Otherwise from a pure value perspective, there's no point in buying this car. A fully loaded new 2020 Toyota Highlander, 2020 Kia Telluride, and 2020 Hyundai Palisade, all offer more features for literally half the price of this extremely overpriced Mercedes Benz.

As I said, you need deep pockets to afford a GLS but hey, there’s lots of people and families that have that type of money. Mercedes has always been an aspirational brand and this GLS is for those wanting the latest and greatest and that are willing to pay the price. With that being said, the new GLB that I’m testing right now is quite amazing. It’s no GLS but there’s actually a lot of value. Stay tuned.

@@EverydayReviews2022 Lots of people and families that have that type of money? I doubt that. Close to 40 million Americans have applied for unemployment benefits. The majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. The lines at food pantries across the nation are huge. Homeless shelters are overwhelmed. We've not seen such a high level of unemployment & poverty since the Great Depression. Making a video of a 100,000 dollar vehicle seems a tad insensitive considering the current situation. You should be making reviews on the Toyota Corolla and Chevy Spark. I get that you car reviewers want to review such expensive cars with fancy gizmos because it's fun to review and because it gets you more views but don't pretend that "lots of people" can afford it. We're not that dumb, my dear.

Your wife is correct, the X7 is better. You should make a second video with her take on the GLS. Also you should see if you can get an X7 and a GLS at the same time and both of you drive them to see which ones you really like.

I contacted 4 Mercedes Benz dealerships near me and asked them to give me an out the door price quote on a new 2020 GLS450. Out the door quote so inclusive of sales tax, registration, dealer fees, dealer options etc. The lowest OTD quote I received was $95,000 and the highest quote I received was $111,000 USD. Extremely overpriced. Especially because you know that air suspension & huge amount of electronics, sensors etc. will break down on you right after warranty, costing you a pretty penny. Unless you agree to pay an extra 10 grand for an extended warranty. No thanks. I've decided to buy a 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum for 42 grand out the door (after discounts). Top trim fully loaded 3 row SUV which looks and drives like a luxury car.

Mercedes needs to benchmark a Yukon Denali. They just don’t look big enough or macho enough. Women won’t buy these and men want it bigger and manlier. Just a hard pass unless you are going to mall.

You should tell that to all the women I know that drive these, ton in my neighborhood alone. They are snapping up X7s too. My one neighbor had at least two or three GLSs and now she’s got an X7 and her husband has a GLS also.
