@@allesales5498 You know its funny because it is coming from Mitsubishi Japanese Executive himself saying that there is no need to have more than 2 airbags because there's isn't much demand for it. The vehicle itself is designed for ASEAN market in mind and they have other safety features and one of them is uses of High Tensile Steel in its body frame to have better protection from a hard impact. If you drive a Toyota and this Xpander, you will notice the vehicle is much solid and heavier than the tin can body of those Toyota/Daihatsu/Perodua group vehicles.

I've been told by sales person that Xpander would be pricing at around RM 95k-ish +/- results from SST examption. But the price without the SST would reach RM 100k above. If the price doesn't exceed RM 100k this would be game changer for sub-compact crossover mpv/suv 7-seater for family with practicality usage in mind.

That's what I thought. I've heard rumours that Proton have asked Geely to modify the packaging of the interior to make it more spacious. They can ditch the space for the hybrid battery, increase the wheel base or reshape the seats (ala new Honda City) to make more room. If Proton just rebadge the Jiaji without solving this issue, then it's gonna be very hard to sell. The most important reason that people choose to buy an MPV is because they want more room. Maybe that's the reason why there's no news about Proton's next MPV as they need more time for vehicle development. The next Proton MPV might not be a simple Geely rebadge like previous models. Well that's the rumours that I've heard. Stay safe bro.

​@@fadhliberohan6726 i think rush offer much more tech. blindspot/rear traffic/pre-collision assist, auto headlamp, 6 air bags, front parking sensor. video recorder & 360 camera also got. exterior have roof rail, higher ground clearance and larger rims. Plus at lower price point (top of the range rush is 92k. xpander indicative price is 96k). Xpander not bad. So hard to choose.

Rush is garbage. Don't buy it. Seriously if you compare the drive quality, fuel consumption, cabin noise and practicality, the Xpander kickass! Also, Rush is utterly outdated. Doesn't feel premium in terms of interior materials. Seriously go and test drive yourself to believe!

To some yes, but to most people. It's more than enough. The Toyota Rush's cousin, Perodua Aruz, has more or less the same power but Mitsubishi engine has lightly better torque and way better fuel consumption

@@YokeMeiNg No solid info yet the ones in Malaysia but I can tell you it is more or less similar to Toyota Rush or Perodua Aruz. The Xpander is marketed as an affordable and practical MPV. It was initially introduced to fight against the Toyota Avanza and Rush, Daihatsu Xenia and Terios, and Honda Mobilio or BR-V in Indonesian market. And the Mitsubishi took the market by storm. The Indonesian consumer were very surprised with the quality compared to other known brands. And so far after the launch in Indonesia for almost 3 years, the overall feedback were very positive. No complains in regards to high maintenance cost because Mitsubishi designed this vehicle to be the best MPV in the market. And while they have just launched in Malaysia, you may head down to their showroom and ask from their sales representative. And do a test drive to have a feel at it. You might be surprised how nice it handles.

The Xpander has a twin sister clone from Nissan called the Livina. Looks very nice too. Look it up! Serena is totally different body style.

@@Xyb3rTeCh Been in the Grand Livina before. The comfort is very nice for a body size similar to Alza and Exora. But the boot was way to small. Can't complaint about that in the B segment though. Avanza is bigger but less comfortable.

Since then after Nissan partner up with Mitsubishi, they've created and shared a platform where Mitsubishi has its Xpander and Nissan has its All-New Livina. As of now, the newer Livina (they don't called it Grand Livina anymore) have way more boot space than its previous generation. Oh and holy moly on the Avanza, how horrible the Avanza is. It drives utterly terrible. And Toyota isn't doing any major changes to the decade old Avanza! Try doing 60 kph at highway, you already can feel that the car is unsettling. But with the Xpander, doing 140 kph is still feels planted!

not proud for the fact that we get highest spec in ASEAN region while giving 2 airbags. Sounds like some ASEAN genius here insulting to the lives of ASEAN people because this car only exist in this region.
