@@biggboysouth I don't think Nissan will, but American consumers have generally disliked hatchbacks and wagons, and they're even less favorable than sedans in today's market, but if you just raise it by two inches and say it's an "SUV" somehow people lose their minds and will rush to pay an extra $3,000-4,000 for it.

Driving it feels like being in a taller sentra I think it shares more with the sentra than the versa. If it was replacing the versa note it would be way smaller.

I think the drums in the back is fine. Drums can be quite efficient when applied correctly to a vehicle. Not like anyone gonna drive this on the track anyway. Since Nissan's tend to rust in the rust belt, the drums will add extra a little more protection.

I sat in a Kicks. Interior is a step up from the garbage they were putting out in the mid 2010s. Infotainment is solid and well integrated. CVT is improved but I don't trust it to be reliable. At least the Qashqai/rogue sport has a manual.

I dont understand the market for subcompact SUVs, they're literally taller hatchbacks and compared to one, they have worse gas mileage, some are more expensive, and are more expensive to insure than a hatchback. This isnt a step up from a hatchback because it only comes with a CVT in America. If it had the manual like the rest of the world it would actually have a place in the market. I guess this exists because China said they had to make it

Walter Yellow perceived value from extra space than a compact sedan without paying for a compact SUV. Some people are simply unwilling to go over a certain budget for their cars

When they came to Mexico they sold really well the first year because it was a better Versa with more room and it had a slightly taller ride than in the US so it became popular in rainy cities and the like. However, all trims has only two airbags and not even the top trim had EBD and the cheaper versions even lacked TCS (only assistance available on base models was ABS). Since last year they all have four airbags (on top trim), TCS and EBD but the unrealiable CVT and bad overall safety features killed it. Oh, and about the suspension having a taller ride than in the US? They toppled over easily when doing dodge maneuvers and are very unstable at highway speeds

Great POV. Where is the camera attached on your face? Forehead, nose, or mouth? Also, is it a go pro? Edit: Nvm, I went back and saw that it was on your cap. The placement was really spot on when you were driving since the rearview mirrors were very visible and also when you were turning around. My brother and I tried doing something similar to capture our drive in Colorado but it didn't look right.

I'd like very much to buy this Kicks. But seems that there's a ton of cabin noise and road noise too and this continuous shouting of the engine makes me rethink. The engine of my old 2012 Rio is far less noisy when sollicitated.

In terms of driving experience, this is definitely a downgrade compared to the juke. The kicks is really underpowered and noisy. The juke handles way better also. I feel like if they put the Jukes power in this car, maybe a Kicks SR Turbo, at least 170-200 hp, it would be a car I would buy.

Nice video but I have to disagree on the characteristics. The engine is WAY under-powered... it can only get out of its own way IF you drive it hard. It makes alot of noise like your flooring it, but the car isn't really moving. We must have a difference on the meaning of nimble: on the SV I drove, you had to turn the steering wheel about a quarter turn to get what only seemed about 30 degree turn... the steering gear ratio is horrible. The center console, for some reason, has a protrusion in the front of it that makes no sense, but really gets in the way horribly. The interior is a lot of hard plastic, and coupled with a harsh ride, I imagine it will be very squeaky with some age. It doesn't even have awd as an option, where the Crosstrek offers it as standard equipment, and many other models offer it as an option, at least. The best things I can say about the car is that I found the front seats comfortable, it has nice styling, and ofc gets good mileage. For the price, maybe a little more, I think a person could do much better than this.

I don't trust these tiny engines Nissan is putting in their cars these days. Combined with the CVT, these things are reving up so high to get up to speed. Super bad for the long term life of the engine to routinely get to 3000 plus rpm just to pull away from a stop light.
