this shows you that historically in NZ rugby, the flair in our game comes from the north island (not suprisingly as it has the bigger portion of maori and pacific islanders )and whereas the conservative approach amd structure comes from the rugby played in the south island. Combining the two is what made mz rugby strong.

Surely this becomes a permanent Fixture in the calendar when a 3 game series, what an advert for Rugby Union, only change is make is to allow the player to choose based off where they went to High School or the First county they played for to allow the likes of J.Barrett to represent his native North and D. Mc to represent the South and prevent a similar circumstance repeating itself. Obviously once you choose one there's no going back

Good to see the "North vs South" game back only don't agree with the selection/eligibility set-up? Just keep it simple and base it on where you are born. Just because you played your first professional game for a club somewhere other than where you were born is because there were no opportunities available at the time you started playing professional rugby. To put it in perspective, if you were born in New Zealand and played your first professional game for A.C.T Brumbies you wouldn't want to play for Australia? 🙈🤭(sorry skips,no offense) I don't know? Just saying, I'm from the Waikato and i know I'd want to play for the North.✌

What if you were born in Wellington but moved to Dunedin in infancy and have been there since? And what about non-NZ-born players? Should be based on where you played high-school rugby.

@@Youre "You're" (🤭) over thinking it mate. Ask yourself, where were they born? Then you will find that they would be representing the same Island and not raising eyebrows playing against each other. Pretty straight forward. Basically in my opinion, the current system is rubbish.

should stick to where you were born, only 2 players from North (Dmac and ALB) were born in South and 8 players from south were born in North (Whitelock, Codie, Bridge, Goodhue, Barrett, Ioane, Eanor, lomax) I guess the AB selectors wanted a fair game so they went with the current criteria

As awesome of a game this was, one thing stands for sure, NZ's attack is all about pace and speed, and seems to be the only thing going for it. Simply put we cant defend against ourselves. Judging by the score, you'd think we cant defend. That might actually be true, that we cant defend against high speed offense. Note the NZ v Eng RWC game. If NZ cant defend against high speed offense, then i dont think anyone can.
