Insane to see how much Dex declined since March. I never thought I will live to see the day when he seems odd in a second call-out. The man solidly defeated Ramy some 9 months ago and now needed the judges' help to keep a Rodriguez in bay...crazy. This was a solid second call-out but it once again showed what is the difference between the absolute elite and the next in line. Maybe Brandon is a joker because some aspects of him are not first call-out material but he more than makes up for it. This is similar to Akim's situation and he is basically one feat away from that level (and it should be back detail as you mentioned). I'm happy for Iain's redemption but in order for him getting similar placing next time with Roelly, Flex and maybe even Shawn, he really needs to analyze his posing. Seems like a smart guy, a coach himself yet his posing doesn't do him justice in many cases. Hope he'll hit the calves as well, because unless it's a nerve injury, this level is unacceptable and his great quads lose wow factor due to the toothpicks below the knee.
@Tomn8er4 жыл бұрын
Yeah Dexter must've had issues prepping due to all the lockdowns. I can't explain it otherwise because he looked so much better in March, particularly in the AC finals. Your comment on Akim and Brandon kind of makes me want to do a 1v1 between those two, because I think Akim can hold his own in most poses vs the former Mr O, and possibly even upset him in a couple!

He does have that pec tear though. It isn't as noticeable as other chest tears we have seen throughout the years. But it really stands out in some shots. In others, he does a good job posing around it. It has probably been torn for far too long for a surgeon to repair it and keep it looking presentable. I know that Tony Freeman had his pec tear fixed many years after suffering the injury and it was still extremely noticeable after the repair. However, his was so bad that it had to be fixed if he wanted to compete. Labrada's is still workable.
@gabrielfernandez81114 жыл бұрын
@@M.J.D.R Upper body, his father was better than him. One thing to take into account is that this man has an injury in the pec that can affect his aesthetics.
@gabrielfernandez81114 жыл бұрын
@@michaelr.4878 Ye. But there is two points about that. First. It would be dangerous for him to train heavy in some movements, because that area is weakened. And Two, it is a minor tear, but anyway you can notice it clearly and affect some poses, for example, front lts spread.

In resume. Justin has good biceps and back, and by them alone placed him 10th, which can arguably be a 9th. Hunter is balanced and complete, much like his father only bigger and more suitable for the current era, could improve tho in the conditioning. Dex is a shadow of himself much like Phil Heath. Iain fails to manage some poses and severely lacks the calves and back, but he has proven that he can came conditioned and definitely has the freak factor. Akim in overall the best of the mix, great arms, good back and great lower body. The Orville Burke’s vibe makes him kinda eyes catching, plus the fact that he improved his conditioning, overall a solid aspirant for the first callout.
