Great resource! If you do not have OneNote 2016 you can download and install direct from Microsoft using this link support.office.com/en-us/article/install-or-reinstall-onenote-2016-for-windows-c08068d8-b517-4464-9ff2-132cb9c45c08. Once installed it will allow you to open the file and then you can transfer to the newest version of OneNote.

Hi there 😃 yes Mac doesn't play nicely when it comes to sharing this away. If you can get access to a PC, use the 2016 versioof onenote to download (while signed into onenote). Then once you've openes it on the PC it will be in your recent files and then you can access on your mac ❤ if you have any troubles send me a msg on the Facebook page 😃

Hi Jamie. You shouldn't need any permissions to access the file through google drive. However, I recommend going to the 2022 version of this planner as it has lots more than the 2020 planner 😃

I'm so happy to have received very lovely messages about how helpful the 2020 OneNote Planner/Program is. There are also some people having difficulty with the download. To avoid this please watch the video to see all the download instructions. The BEST/easiest way to download is to use a PC that has the 2016 version of OneNote installed (it looks the same as in the video). Most DoE PCs have it installed - make sure you are logged into OneNote. If you are using a Mac/iPad or other device you can still access it by downloading on a PC first and then it will be in your recent files. You can access it by clicking 'open other notebooks'. Hi there! If your friend goes to file and clicks on open other notebooks (or more notebooks) it should be in the list of options that pop up 🙂 let me know if that doesn't work.

Thanks so much for the time and effort you have put into this channel! I'm returning to teaching after over a decade as a stay at home mum to kiddos with special needs. I am excited to be going back into the classroom and spent the last two terms as a TA to reacquaint myself with schools and update my skills and knowledge. Hi Walter. Mac and Microsoft don't like to play well. The best way that I know of to sort it is to download and open it on a PC that has onenote on it (preferably the 2016 version - and with you logged in). Then after that you should be able to open on other devices as it will be in your recent files. :)

Hi. FIrstly Thanks for this One note. It is great. I also had trouble as my home computer didn't have One Note 2016. So I used my school laptop (DET image) that has 2016 and the onenote app on it. I right clicked the downloaded file, then opened in 2016. I then synched that to my school onedrive account. Then on my home computer, I opened the det portal page, went into my office 365 account and opened onedrive opened the planner from there. Hopefully this is of help to someone here.

After hours of slogging through Microsoft training videos, I found your channel. THANK YOU! I can't even remember how. I need to train up my team by Monday on how to use OneNote as we have just been given a 2-week school closure due to the Coronavirus scare. What frustrates me is that we use Office 365 at school and all training is on Office 2016. It looks different and works differently and I can't afford to confuse my teachers and more importantly my grade 4 students. Oh boy! Secondly, my mac is not helping the issue. However, I will mask up and head into school today, because I want to work through your videos and download anything I possibly can to be able to teach my kids from home.

@@kateomara9539 you will need the app to be able to download. Specifically the 2016 version of the OneNote app. Not sure if this link to download the app will work on a chromebook but give it a go. Download the app, log in, then download the planner again (try the google link). Then once you've opened the planner click sync and you'll be able to use in any version of OneNote 👍let me know if it doesnt work. Also, I really want to access online versions this year, as my 2016 version was only on my home computer so became hard to link with school. I have heard the 365 version of One Note is not the best, but online would be so much better than not. :) Cannot wait to use it even more next year!

Hi Darren. Yes Ive since figured out it's because I made and exported it in the 2016 version of OnNote. BUT there is a solution 😀 you can download the 2016 OneNote software for free, sign in, then download the 2020 planner again and it will open. Once you've done that then you will be able to use in any version of onenote as it will be in your recent files. 🍎

I can't get it to work. I have a brand new lenovo laptop with the latest version of onenote. I downloaded it from the Google link then when I insert it from my downloads it says it's over 100MB and can't fit. I also tried opening it after downloading by double clicking it and it said no app on my computer could. Can you help!

Hi Samantha. I think it sounds like your using the windows 10 version of OneNote. Because I created the planner in the 2016 version of OneNote it won't download properly with windows 10. BUT, if you install the free version of 2016 onenote, you can download it (while signed in), open the planner and then it will be in your recent files and you can access on the windows 10 version. 😃 send me a msg on the facebook page if you need help with this 👍

Hello! I try to export handwriting notes to pdf but when i check them on the preview my note repeats twice at the end of 1st page and at the start of 2nd page and many times it cuts off some notes. how can i fix that? Can you help me, thank you!

Oh sorry I'm not sure why it is doing that. Have you tried clicking print and then PDF instead of exporting?

Yes absolutely! Just add another section group and copy all the term sections. I would recommend still having your own individual programs backed up though for compliance purposes. 😁

Love the idea of Onenote, but it is too clunky and too many issues. Sync issues and counter productive. Going back to Evernote.

That's a shame you had those issues. I do agree the windows 10 version is quite clunky which is why I prefer the 2016 version of OneNote, much better. I only had synching issues when there were issues with the work connections. Otherwise all good for me 👍

Are these templates only possible on Windows/PC version of OneNote?

No the templates will worl across all versions. The only problem is that it won't download on other systems. So if you can get access to a PC, you can use the 2016 version of OneNote to download the template. Open it up like I do in the video (make sure you are signed in). Once you've opened it maybe type somewhere just to make sure it refreshes. Then you can access it on any other system as it will be in your recent files 😃 send me a msg on my Facebook page if you have any issues downloading 🍎

@@talkinchalk Thanks - unfortunately I'm stuck in a PC free environment while in covid-19 situation there are other templates I've been able to open like the test one from onenote.auscomp but they have a different file name and come in a folder that can be unpacked using onenote importer: www.onenote.com/notebooks/exportimport?auth=1&toImport=true the folder has a name.one and a open notebook.onetoc2 file not the name.onepkg like your file. Is there any way for us Mac users that you could export it to the other format!? Pretty please?

Hi Kristen Im glad you like it! I would suggest if you are sharing with staff to collaborate then create a new onenote. Copy all the tabs you want to use and edit for your school. Then you click share and insert staff emails. Then you can all access it together ❤😀

Hi Monique. I'm guessing you're using the windows 10 version of OneNote. It downloads best in the 2016 version of onenote. Once you've downloaded with 2016 then it will work in the windows 10 version. Do you have the 2016 version on your surface?

If you can access a PC with the 2016 version of OneNote you just need to sign in, then download the planner (the google link seems to work best), then it will open for you. I recommend clicking sync. @@talkinchalk I am using NSW Dept of Ed Microsoft Office 365 and tried G Suite option too. When I click the sharepoint link under the video I get a "Link removed" message. When I use the Google option it downloads like your video showed, but the file is unopenable as the .onepkg file isn't recognised. Sorry if I'm missing something! I made my own teacher planner last year using Google Slides, but yours is much more detailed and I'd love to give it a try this coming year. I'm sorry to be a nuisance! Thanks for trying to help. (I'm running Windows 10 Pro on my laptop.)
