Cylinder deactivation is what you noticed at the lights. I'm not sure what the circumstances for the bike doing it are but I think it's a temperature management thing.

Yea i wanted to see how that works but the demo was a 19 not a 20. And the 19 was a FIREBALL! It burned the inside of my left thigh at every stop. Cutting off the rear bank would certainly help heat build up.

It turns off two of the valves when in neutral. It is designed to do that. It is to conserve power in order to keep the engine from overworking and therefor staying cooler. All the v4s have that feature.

Go take a safety course. They literally teach you how to walk before you ride the bike and slowly build your confidence. It will also let you know if you really want to become a motorcyclist or not without getting too financially involved.

Been saving for awhile for a litre bike. I was set on the 2020 S1000RR but with all the drama, I don’t think it’s the right bike atm. The Ducati V4S seems to be ready now with all the refinements. Now I’m ready to take the plunge with the V4S. Thank you for your honest review.

Great review. I have the V4s corse and rsv4 1100 factory. The 2019 V4s corse feels like a bucking horse which feels good. Will probably add the bmw 2021 to the garage next year. Hope bmw sees what Ducati has done with the electronics!!

I like part throttle down shifting for a smoother downshift. You can also adjust engine braking, so you can tailor it for how quickly you like to decel, and I believe it saves that setting per mode.

I just wish they would add cruise control on v4 s. I have a 17 bmw s1000rr and I love that feature. It’s so nice when you can rest your wrist on the highway with cruise control.

Akrapovic is add on, clearly written on the website. Standard exhaust is Ducati basic. Looks better anyway as it is fully integrated and fully sufficient if not a racetrack only rider. 2nd: This is already the high windscreen like on the R. The old S had the lower windscreen. Aprilia rsv4 and tuono let you downshift without closing the throttle, it's very usefull for example if you need to overtake quickly 😉

I'm currently owning a 400cc sporbike, but I want more power especially for the torque. Which have the best torque pairing V2 and V4 at lowest/medium RMP? Because of streets use maybe V4 have more torque than V2 or at low rpm they are the same ?

Ducati are nice bikes... most who have one just look at there bike it's more of a trophy, and I'm just surprised how many recalls where on the V4. I would like a V4 dont get me wrong but man like you said... 30k
