Thanks for the video Ryan. I am in the market for one of these but it's hard to find a lot of info on them! Looks like a sweet package. I used to own two boats but that was way too much maintenance! These look like they can do both (hunt/fish) very well. Thanks again!

About time I can find some relevant newer info on this boat. Out here in WA they have no dealerships so I’ll be going out of state. What is top speed with your 115? It’s rated up to 150 the website says for the 186 side console model? But only a 90 for the tiller? Any idea why they don’t rate it higher than the 90 when the side console can take the 150? Huge thank you for the. video. This boat is beefy

I get to about 35 mph with the 115 and that's pretty consistent whether its just me or 4 guys, and a boat load of decoys, gear and dogs. I'm not sure why the tiller rating is so low, maybe something to do with weight distribution? I might be looking to sell if your interested

Ryan... thanks for the videos! I am looking at this exact same boat at Freeway. Now that you’ve had for both seasons (fish and hunt), is there anything you would do or not do? I do a lot of troll fishing, but usually not from the bow so Joel at Freeway was suggesting a “troll” button for the 115hp that allows you to reduce and control RPMs from the helm. Never heard of this and it sounds crazy that a 115 could troll slowly enough. Have you tried trolling with your 115? I also like the beavertail blind, but it seems like it would be hard to get in/out of the boat once you’ve got it strapped down. Am I overthinking it? Thanks for the great information you’ve provided on this boat/blind setup!

Yea Joel is who I worked with too!, yea so my thoughts after 2 seasons on the water.... I absolutely love it, and would do it again without thinking about it. as far as your questions. I do a good bit of fishing on Lake Superior when the weather is good... I would suggest the 36v ulterra trolling motor vs the 24v I got, a little more juice would be nice to have on the great lakes, if you're only fishing inland lakes 24v is fine. the beavertail blind has been absolutely awesome. you are correct that its a bit of a pain getting in only because one corner needs to be unbungeed and its not super easy to get to from inside with waders on and all that, sometimes we don't even put that bungee on 1 corner and then you can just flip it over with ease. in crappy weather though, it is great for staying dry and out of the elements, especially if you have less then 4 shooters and one of the holes is closed, it will hold heat from a buddy heater pretty well that way The trolling feature on the motor is probably a good move.... not sure where you fish but on lake superior there's a current that flows around the Keweenaw peninsula, one way I'm at 7 on the trolling motor going 2.2mph... the other way against the current, I'm at 10 on the trolling motor AND have the 115 in gear to maintain the 2.2mph... and so that has been my solution... I just put the motor in drive and increase or decrease the trolling motor as needed but per the manual thats not really its intended purpose. so the trolling feature is a good idea imo. any other stuff I can think of.... the Helix 9 MEGA SI gen3 Love it and has all the features I need BUT if I had to do it again I might get the Solix 10 just because lol. Oh... lastly if your going to be fishing the great lakes.... just have them install a good marine radio... that would've been nice to do, instead I have a handheld that works but man, something built in would've been well worth the money that's all I can think of off the top of my head, let me know if you have any other questions

@@TheRyantanner Thanks, Ryan! Very helpful. Most of my use will be on Houghton and Higgins lakes (at least for fishing). They are both big lakes and can get pretty rough, but nothing like the Great Lakes! The only other question I forgot to ask you is about light bars. I didn’t see one on your boat and I’m trying to figure out where to mount it/them if I have a trolling motor. Did you come up with a solution for a light bar(s)? Thanks, again!
@TheRyantanner
@TheRyantanner 2 жыл бұрын
@@toddruthruff834 Gotcha, yea this boat is great for big inland lakes... I've been in 4' waves on superior when storms just sweep in and although it wasn't fun I never felt like I was in danger so it will hold its ground in any condition I can think of being out in on an inland lake.... Ah YES! A light bar... my solution is a handheld spotlight (the rechargeable one from Walmart isn't bad for the $$), I would like a light bar but the handheld has been enough for my applications, my previous 16' ModV had one and it was pretty handy, especially on rivers.... One last thing to know, the boat does need about 11-14 inches of water to float..... I'd guess you could get away with 4-6 inches with the haul but that 115 is heavy and puts a lot of weight on the back end ..... as for the 115, this motor is AWESOME.. 4 guys and 15dz decoys/ equipment the boat will still move at 35 mph... about 39-40mph unloaded and it is super quiet, no joke I've had guys at the launch ask "hey, are you going to start that thing?" while its idling lol .... just read the manual when you get the boat.... I've never broken a outboard in before, they have some very specific directions for breakin period and rpm ranges to stay in for X hours etc...

Ryan, great looking boat! I just picked up an Outlander 186 of my own and am curious to what length trolling motor shaft you have, and would you recommend the same length shaft?
@TheRyantanner
@TheRyantanner 2 жыл бұрын
It’s a 60” shaft 24v/ 80# thrust. I does the job, if it gets choppy and all the weights in the back of the boat it will come out of the water so if it were longer it wouldn’t be a bad thing but not really required. not sure what you’ll be fishing… if it’s the Great Lakes… this setup will do fine BUT you would benefit from the 36v/ 112 # when your trolling against the current

Thanks for the video! I’m at that point where I am going to be buying a forever boat too. I’ve been mulling over the Lund Alaskan vs The Outlander. I’ve gone through specs and asked both dealerships my questions. But if you could say, while duck hunting, how’s it been? How shallow have you been able to get in? How deep does the outboard sit? Can you get a ladder on the Stern? Sorry for all the ?’s just wanted to see how you’ve liked it for hunting. Great video! Thank you again!

@@munsterlanderman no it drafts well I wouldn't have any hesitation in an area that's shin deep. I will say we did push it into some cattails and ended up pushing it on top some of the roots and had to rock it off..... she ain't light lol that was a serious pain

Did you find out why at the stern there is only a seat & seat base on the Starboard side?? Why isn't there a seat base

Great video. I'm in the market for a boat. I currently have a Crestliner Jon Deluxe. Its camo painted. My problem is it gets unbearably hot in the summer. What is your interior? Is it vinyl and does it get hot in the summer?
@TheRyantanner
@TheRyantanner 3 жыл бұрын
It is a textured vinyl flooring, it didn’t get hot in the summer but I’m not sure where you live, up here on Lake Superior if it gets over 85 degrees we start freaking out and melting like snowmen lol. I have a buddy with hydroturf flooring in his boat and that would be a great substitute flooring that I know wouldn’t get hot

With all the features I got it was certainly more than I wanted to pay but I’ll never be purchasing a new boat again so I bit the bullet. I won’t disclose too much but I’ll tell you It was a good number north of 30
