I'm really enjoying the way these One Takes are now. I like Zach still doing the OG style of people's cool cars, then having you every once in a while with a car that you have had time with. Really diggin how things are going here.

Having just started to do some car review videos of my own, I cannot exaggerate how hard it is to do what Matt is doing in this video, i.e. speaking to camera in a cogent way while also driving at a decent pace on a road that he doesn't know like the back of his hand. I've driven the 992 4S at a launch event on Porsche's Leipzig cicuit and the handling is just otherworldly. I especially liked the sheer amount of thight corner grip and that the awd system is essetially rear-wheel drive except when you need it to pull you back on track. It just works perfectly. Absolutely in love with the 992.

Was there in my '19 C4S this summer and ran the Dragon up and down for a few hours. Was able to keep up with the motorcycles in front of me and wasn't even stressing the car. I enjoyed rowing my 7M. You can keep your PDK (even though I'm probably in the minority). The torque is plentiful down low. Mine has the OEM Michelins and they drove great even in the rain (it rained 30 inches over normal in some places near the Dragon). Perfect car for a the place. I don't mind the overdrive 7th, it real good for the interstate, 29+mpg, 24 mpg combined.

@lukaposeidon8490 5 жыл бұрын
@@StellarGale Let's say u can consider both. The turbo wouldn't be better as it would be less comfortable than the carrera and you don't need more peformance than this for a grand tourer. This is already supercar levels of speed or near supercar. Does 11 seconds 1/4mile. Anything faster than that probably means that you are looking for a supercar instead of a gt. And talking about the current turbo this one has way more tech and is more comfortable.
@StellarGale
@StellarGale 5 жыл бұрын
@@lukaposeidon8490 why would it be less comfortable than Carrera? And 911s are by design super quick in a straight line, they don't need to be rough and crazy supercars to go fast.

European delivery, wow... Some day i dream of having that experience, and i am working on that, so thank you so much for showing me this video. My 992 is going to be the yellow one though, and a 4S any day!!! Bravo, great video.

The car with AWD and rear steering has got to be one of the best corner carving machines out there. I was always a purist when it came to Porsches, GT3 manual all the way, but the older I get the more I am leaning toward preferring the additional traction and stability of the AWD/rear steer combo...driving enjoyment (and confidence) at its height.

I love that Matt's gauge of fuel use is how far the car can be driven on a tank of gas.

YasumotoUS at $130k Range is far more important than fuel economy. Time is money, and fillips take time.

@@TheSmokingTire Oh, I get it! The owner wants to be out running for as long (time + distance) as is possible between fuel stops. And range is important, especially when travelling out of the urban areas on the North American continent. That was hella fun to see the tail of the dragon run. Thank you!

Awesome video, thanks! You still had a little bit to go, the Tail of the Dragon ends at Deal's Gap. Next time, make sure you also run it in the other direction (westbound), for some reason I found it more interesting that way. Maybe because you're on the mountain side and you can push a bit harder as you're not seeing the 200ft drop :-)

Thanks for another awesome video. Nice stretch of open road. Last time out I had my 997.2TTS on the Tail of the Dragon...huge smile factor. Sold it and picked up a 720 which has yet to see this road. Let me know if you want to take it for a spin next time you’re out there.

WOW, SIR! I REALLY ENJOYED *THE TAIL OF THE DRAGON DRIVE.* IT WAS PERFECT!!! AND I HAVE DECIDED TO GET ANOTHER PORSCHE... THIS ONE!! THX. THE 992 4S CARRERA. I ACTUALLY HAD ONE OF ONLY 2 MADE FOR USA.. PORSCHE TARGA CARRERA 1986 FIRST WIDE BODY, WHALE TAIL. I RECEIVED 1ST PLACE IN SURVIVOR CATAGORY.. AND FIRST IN SHOW !! The one thing I didn't like so much is the distance between driver and passenger seats.. its just too close~window to window ...for me. In this generation...it looks to me (as you're a big man) that there seems to be more cabin room. That was my hold up to getting another porsche. My '69, '70 & '73 Jaguars XKE VI2's HAD ALOT MORE ROOM INSIDE...window to window. and front to back.
