2020 QX50 EDITION 30 PROBLEMS & OVERVIEW

This is a overview of the 2020 Infiniti QX50 Edition 30. I drove this car around for a little over a week and became very disappointed in what was an otherwise good small SUV. All QX50's come with the VC line of turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engines. The VC stands for variable compression which uses special connecting rods to allow for this. It utilizes a lower compression for improved fuel economy and a higher compression for improved horsepower when its needed. The engine makes 268 HP and 280 LB-FT of torque which is fairly impressive numbers for a 4 banger but it delivers this power horribly through it CVT (continuously variable transmission). these transmissions are awful at delivering performance but will help with fuel economy. CVT's have been around for awhile with Nissan first putting it into a production vehicle in 1992 and Infiniti in 2013.

These are the most positive comments I’ve seen about this vehicle. I have a 22 rav hybrid with ECvt and it’s not bad but it took some getting use to because it feels like one solid gear no mater how fast you go. I’m currently test driving a 2020 qx50 for a few days and the CVT on this feels so much better because of the simulated gears. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews about the way it’s drive but I think people who say negative things have never driven a car with CVT or are just die hard “real transmission” people. Nothing wrong with either but you have to drive one of these cars understanding the actual purpose of a CVT… anyone who understands how it works can truly appreciate what’s going on with the vehicle and enjoy the ride.

I have this car. U can control alot of the stuff u didn't like by going to the setting. Pedal feeling, steering alert etc

I hate when dealers stick their emblem on the back of cars. I have the fully loaded Autograph and the dealer I got it from did the same thing. First thing I did when I got home was peel that sucker off.

Fun fact you can tell where the car was originally designed to be sold by which side the fuel door is on. European and Japanese cars are right hand drive, thus the fuel door is on the right side. When they are converted to LHD they don’t bother moving the fuel door. Same for American cars. All fuel doors are on the left, even if sold on RHD configuration. The exception is that these Infinitis and other import cars are based off a chassis designed for the US(LHD) market which is why some imports have the fuel door on the left side.

Also check your setting and see if the steering is sports mode or standard and also IN THE SETTINGS you can set engine and trans to sports or standard modes as well ma dude cause mine has non of the issues yours is having

This car will automatically go in park when you turn off the vehicle. My husband has the same issue as you. Also, it appears that you are a sports car dude which this car is not. Maybe there is a difference between the AWD version and the version you are driving? Not sure. I do not think a week of driving this car gives you a good feel of what this car can do with the right settings. Just my opinion. Thanks for the review though!

TO PUT IN NEUTRAL DO NOT PUSH THE BOTTON THEM MOVE THE LEVER JUST MOVE THE STICK UP BY ITSELF GOES INTO.NEUTRAL WITH NO ISSUES I HAVE THE SAME CAR QX50 LUXE NOT HARD TO DO 😆😂

Hey there, Thanks for taking time to review this vehicle. I do not own this vehicle but have had a few cars that was mated with CVT transmissions. Some were better than others but it took a bit of time to get use to the way it drives. Just saying also if you are looking for a sports car not the car for you

Most important quirky QX50 thing is this. If you enable auto hold, it will engage parking brake when you need to shift in neutral. To remedy this, shut down the engine, restart, release parking brake, shift into neutral.

Why buy a vehicle if you don't like it? And do you really think driving a vehicle for a week, in total, is a fair evaluation of the vehicle's performance? And if it's so difficult to go from this vehicle to your "other" vehicle, buy the "same" type vehicle so it's not so difficult for you. Why rag on the QX50. No rocket science.

If you can remember to put the damn car into park by pushing the (P) Park button you can simply push the (push start engine button) while holding the brake pedal down. The car will automatically go into PARK! 😊 Just say you hate the damn car and trade it in 😂
