2020 Road Glide Stage 1 - S&S GNX 4.5" Slip-On Mufflers - Stock vs Bassani HP Sound Clip/Dynos

After we upgraded the stock Air Cleaner to the Arlen Ness Big Sucker on our shop 2020 Road Glide, we saw an increase in horsepower & tq with the 114" stock motor. We decided to finish the Stage 1 upgrade with a Headpipe and muffler combo.
In this video we ran the brand New S&S GNX 4.5” Slip-On Mufflers with the stock headpipe to get a sound slip and Dyno numbers. Next, we paired the GNX Slip-On with the Bassani 2x2 Headpipe for another sound clip and Dyno pull.
The S&S GNX 4.5” Slip-On mufflers come with a dB reducer that can choose to install or leave out. We decided for the last run to install the dB reducer and see what kind of impact they had on sound and performance. Results were pretty surprising!

Do you think they sound better than cobra neighbor haters? With only the slip on and nothing else?

Kris Craig I've had neighbor haters and S&S pipes and they both sound good. If you still have the catalytic in that will limit the sound and airflow quite a bit also. Hope that helps.

Did you tune after head pipe install?

@@j.c.l-o-g6104 With just the A/C and mufflers it was only a Dynojet improved map flashed with no additional tuning. After the head-pipe installed it was dyno-tuned to improve AFR since there was no map close.

@@Getlowered a LOT less gains than I expected with a full stage 1... Thought the HP would have been more in the 95-105 range... Guess the 475C (or any cam) is a necessity if you really want to feel a difference.

@@0351marinemike Best bang for the buck is a Cam upgrade for sure. You'll still need an Exhaust and A/C for it anyway so just be sure to pick out an exhaust system with enough back-pressure to really give that aftermarket cam some grunt.
