I deal with the hill stop start with using the friction zone of the clutch if needed but I don’t mess with electronics and ride this is why the button system on the bars help like on my Indian Roadmaster. I just bought a 2020 RG Limited that will be delivered next week. I've been riding now for 15 years, starting with a Dyna low rider, then a SGS, and now the Road Glide Limited. I did not go to the dealer looking for RDRS, brake holding feature, tire pressure monitor system, etc, because I have confidence in my riding skills, shifting, braking and how much throttle to roll on or off in different conditions. With that said, I was told towards the end of the negotiations that the bike in the paint scheme I wanted had RDRS, I said okay, cool then. I am actually looking forward to it. I just got back from a trip riding Tail of the Dragon, Cherohola skyway, and several other awesome rides in NC, and TN. I can tell you right now, the stop and go traffic I ran into from Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg, which is highway that's on a mountain, much of it sloped/angled, and was raining, that took an hour and a half of doing nothing but trying to feather the scorpion clutch, massage the throttle, regulate the brakes, all while getting rained on, I would of gladly given up 1k for that feature during that circus. Hell that night, my left hand was struggling to tip a few cold ones, lol. My Truck has had this type of technology for years. I don't ride a Harley because I want to be Easy Rider, and look cool, with a pan head and no suspension, I ride for the all around experience, and the inflated price tag of these things, I want to see more than just a new paint scheme and the cow bell is black instead of silver this year. If that technology saves my back wheel from spinning out while hitting some wet leaves or an oil spot on the road, or a host of other unforeseen problems that spring up on you, I'm all for it. If nothing else at least for the safety of my passenger.

Adam they did add heated grips but what they took away one big feature that I bet all 2017,18and 19 Road Glide Ultra owners is you don’t have the doors to close on the Shark Nose Fairing. Is that why you really buy a touring harley? Clean look of less buttons on the radio? Do you really wonder what the gauges are reading at 80 mph? Isn't everything intuitive at that point? Lower fairings? Good for you. (Although the radiators it hides for the watercooled heads are a bonus. Am wondering though what happens when the bike sinks in that superheated asphalt and tips over. Will the radiators break?). Intelligent breaking? For newbies irt's great, but will they spend $30K+ on their first bike? (As a seasoned rider you should be able to forecast what's coming up quite well). Hill assist? All of us struggle with? Not on this end, guess that's called years of practice. be that as it may, I still bought my FLXTRS and have loved all 460 logged thus far miles
@rbarrows58145 жыл бұрын
in 2019 they came out with gorilla glass on the infotainment sys. my only major concern is my clutch lever is super hard to hold. I had nerve damage to my left wrist in 2012, so I have troubles with my grip. any suggestions on this would be super helpful.
@Deaddriftbum5 жыл бұрын
You can re bleed your clutch to change the friction point. My 17 Road King was the same then i swapped the bars and when bleeding it was able to fine tune the friction zone. Made a world of difference. You can also buy levers that you can adjust the length of pull( further away for large hands, closer to the grip for smaller hands). This is give you more leverage on the lever reducing fatigue

Goody summary of the technology with the RDRS being the only new feature set for 2020 since Boom GTS came out in 2019. They also removed the doors in the fairings two side vents and eliminated the heel shifter lever; features that some of us prefer in our 2019’s. See you in Paris! 🤘

i can't say for sure but i think maybe it's a few issues of not open and close well.. do also get heated grips and... my advice is if there is an option you really want like heal toe shift.... tell the dealer you want it they will throw it in.... i had taken mine off the 2017 anyway but if you want it..... i told them i wanted highway mounts and pegs... they threw it in free if it's missing some small thing that's important to you tell the dealer you want that if it's a good dealer you will get it thrown in

$1000 price tag for the benefit of not having to switch into neutral and keeping a foot on the rear brake while stopped on an incline? Granted, there are other 'benefits' to the RDRS. Mostly, the RDRS removes some of the technicality from riding, but in some situations, actually inhibits the rider's performance during tight maneuvers. I just don't see the RDRS being worth the added expense. The majority of these things can be obtained by training for a few hours.
