Appreciate the painstakingly detailed take on sizes. Perhaps its only us smaller wristed folks who are that sensitive to size changes and tend to obsess over details like these. But I think watch manufacturers should also take note and focus on lug to lug measurements instead of diameter alone....I think a 46mm lug to lug on these oyster cases could be a good middle ground for the larger and smaller wristed folks.

That'a a tough one Luis. I really enjoy the green dial on the Hulk, but the Supercase is less desirable. The Kermit is such a great watch, but I think is not nearly as impressive as the Hulk. If it were up to me I'd get the Kermit and the bracelet and clasp from the 116610. Thanks for watching

I tried on the previous maxi case version and the new 41 mm version at an AD recently and I agree that the updated Sub is awesome! You really have to try on the watch to best see how it fits. There have been a lot of concerns about the larger bracelet and clasp but when you actually compare them in person, the difference is minimal (it is definitely not much larger in person compared to the usual zoomed-in video footage that everyone has seen). Great video and keep up the great work!!

Awesome video! Any chance you could compare the new sub case dimensions to the current gen GMTs? The new GMTs have the re-profiled super case with more elegant lugs than previous iterations of the super case. Would be fascinating to compare the current gen sub and GMT!

2020: 1 mm taper and .3mm larger bezel....untold drama. 2030: AR coating on the crystal. Everyone is selling their 30k subs to trade in for the new 40k AR coated sub. 2040: 2030 the pre AR crystal Subs are now worth 70k and the post AR subs 50k 2040: the Sub moves back to 40mm but the we are still waiting on the 2030 post AR crystal Sub to hit the ADs.....

Great video and comparison of all three. I own the 114060 and the new124060. I agree they wear about the same on the wrist, but for some reason the 124060 seems to feel slimmer on the wrist (wears lower). Not sure if that’s jus a visual thing or what. All in all I love the watch👍

It’s definitely noisy compared to the older one. They used ceramic ball bearings in the rotor axel that make the noise.

I weighed both of them at my AD and the difference was minimal. Part of the reason I did not trade. But the new one is a very nice watch. The new movement was one thing that almost made me trade.

I didn't like the 116610LN or 114060, tried them on at the AD, they looked stocky on the wrist, almost square. The 126610 however is now like my SD43, perfectly proportioned. I love it.

@Sharon Plume Yes, that's true but not the primary goal. More likely that they are looking to maximise sales from repeat customers or make peiple buy more to get what they actually want. I went into the largest ad in the uk, a large chain of 3 brands that sell most of the rolex supply in the UK. They said I had to have bought a rolex via them before to be on the interest list. So I asked, if I buy an op now would you put me on the list, she said yes but there is no guarantee I would get the no date sub I asked for. I'm essentially doing the job for them, 2 sales for 1. In no way does that prove I would be real or a flipper, it just helps them get rid of stock. Its bundling or trying to hook people to be regular buyers from them. Even the op could only be a colour that wasn't really in demand. So they control most of the uk supply and rolex knows whats going on. At least she explained the situation properly and registered me incase. Also tried the rolex boutique on bond Street, same...he'll register me but said my chances are zero. Didn't even bother with saying much else and waited for me to leave. One thing I can guarantee you is that the flippers have a purchase history and put themselves on every list in the past. No new rolex customers until you have bought some things you don't want, then maybe. That increaes the grey market cost which is way too much considering the high horology you can get at that price. Asked if my family would want anything or if i would like a datejust instead. Thought the buyer makes the choice? Play that game with a few models (daytona), but all of one style (steel sports) really takes you out of the game. Just an awful experience but its not her fault, the company enforce it. Went into JLC, Omega, blancpain and grand seiko since to see the alternatives. Treated with respect and actually got to try on some stunning pieces, the sales people were knowledge and enthusiastic about thier products rather than gaming sales. Plenty of alternatives and I've narrowed it down to 2. The one major concern with wearing a rolex was being a target in london and the 'is it fake/youre just flexing 10k' rep you get with wearing a sub. That risk is higher than ever now the cats out of the bag and high end fakes are everywhere. The brand seems to be for those that to want to display wealth, i was simply interested in a classic dressy diver so I'm not their target market.

On the dial of the new sub, on one I inspected at an AD, the area immediately around the centre, where the hands meet the dial, there is a slight impression, or ripple (ie the dial is not absolutely flat). The same seems true around the date window (on the date version I viewed). I cant remember seeing that on previous references. Is that same impression on the watch you have, and is it not there on the previous

I looked for more pics after reading this comment and i think it's an issue of perspective. On the hodinkee review some pics looked misaligned to the right and some looked misaligned to the left. Monochromes review looked left, right, and centered respectively.

The changes are just what I was hoping for, but the truth is I’m probably going to keep my 1997 model I bought new 23 years ago since the chances of me scoring a new one from my local Rolex AD is pretty slim, which sucks. REF. 14060M has the best dial since it doesn't have the words "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" on it. It looks less busy and more clean.
