2020 Ryker Rally Making It My Own

In the first 8 weeks of owning the 2020 Ryker Rally I added a few accessories to make it my own. I also set it up so that I could take it on some longer trips. I usually take a 1700 mile round trip once a year to the Smoky Mountains from Florida to Tennessee & North Carolina. Last year I took the Harley, and the year before that I took the Guzzi. This year it will be the Ryker. It should be a lot of fun on those beautiful twisty mountain roads.

I found your channel after watching the Knight Ryker (my new awesome riding buddy), so glad I did! I agree that the one right side locking case doesn't look symmetrical which drives me crazy. I love what you did with your saddlebags and has me thinking of how I can modify mine the same way without the linq rack. I've been fine this summer with practically no storage but as the weather cools down I just know I will need a little more storage. I hope to hear you talk in upcoming videos to see more of your personality. Then of course I hope to watch some of your riding vlogs. Great work so far, keep posting!

Hey, if all you need is a little more storage, and if you have the OEM Max mount behind your seat, you should be able to mount just about any top case to the Max mount. I use the LinQ top case most of the time and only run with the saddlebags when needed, or on longer trips.

@@rickv4714 I do have a small bag zip tied on there now and a couple more bigger bags that I can change it out with. I think it's cool to come up with something though. We'll see because I probably will not ride the ryker through the winter.

If those bag don't lock into place and if they don't require a key to open then they are of no use to me.

Thats ok, everything is not for everybody. It works perfectly for my intended uses, and its quickly convertible back to no luggage in about 30 seconds. You do have limited options out there that meet your criteria. Those limited options was one of the reasons that I came up with something that works for me. Slingmods makes a nice set of quick release lockable luggage for about $700 dollars, to me reasonably priced too. Its a nice set of luggage and well built, but its rather large in scale to the bike, and it consumes the entire rear end of the machine. Might as well own a Spyder with the built in lockable luggage if you need that much luggage space. Your other option is the Shad single lockable side case. Again a good looking well made single piece of luggage. I actually have a set of Shad side cases (3P System) on one of my other two wheel bikes and its a good looking well made set of luggage. But, they do not make a set for the Ryker, they only make the one side case for the right side of the Ryker. IMHO, it really looks odd with a single side case hanging off the machine, and it looks like you lost something as you're going down the road. It also hangs very low on the bike & IMO ruins the sleek lines of the Ryker. Your third option would require creativity on your part. You could engineer something for yourself like I did, that way you can have it just the way you would want it to be.
