glad to see you jumping on the addressable train. It can be so hard to price out some of the projects people want. And people NEVER understand the sheer amount of time this shit takes. Especially if you want it to look good and be perfect. How do you deal with customers that try to rush you Chris? It always drives me nuts... or when they decide all of a sudden they need it done twice as fast as the alloted time they originally gave you. How do you do this stuff? Do you just lay down the law and tell them this is how it is or beat it?
@flyryde4 жыл бұрын
I don’t rush. However, I’m not the guy to ask about how to run a smooth operation. I’m always doing a million things at once, and I’m much more long term focused. Short term I look like a disaster. I have TERRIBLE reviews from people that decided I was a criminal stealing money because I take so long, or scamming people for things I was never going to finish. With zero context, I look like a pretty bad dude from BBB and other places that people are normally mortified to see bad remarks about them. I don’t rush. I get better and better (skill wise), take a CRAZY amount hits on the chin, financial kicks to the balls, and deal with pretty scary threats on a daily basis, just so I can earn 40K a year with building lights. People aren’t going to understand, or sympathize. They just want cool stuff, and they want it now. In a perfect world you could do the work and not charge till it’s done, or charge 50/50, but my reality has shown me, that it’s not a safe basket to put all your eggs in. Be up front, and tell them you’re slow, and set ground rules about rushing. If you feel like telling them that will cost you the sale, that’s your red flag. There are some amazing people out there, and they’ll support you by doing things the way you set them to be. All the other people have damn near killed FlyRyde every few months for the last 10 years 🤷♂️

For those of us with adressable Halo's (lightingtrendz flow) how would you hook up multiple seperate Halo's/boards? Daisy chain them then use the device seperation on the app to control when they fire? Splitting wouldn't work as the controller would consider them all the same rather than a long strip broken down? Maybe a video explaining how to hook up single units rather than a long strip? Love your work!
@flyryde4 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! So the issue with many addressable halos (aside from heat, failure, exposed LEDs, yada yada), is the IN and OUT connection, or lack out OUT connection I should say. You can scratch off the coating and solder on out connectors on some, but it might be a crapshoot if it’ll work or not. I’ll ask LightingTrends if they have a good video about it.
@joshblack74044 жыл бұрын
@@flyryde Meh if they don't I'll just buy some that do. I know you have spoken about the ACL cuttable strip but do you know if the ACL Halo's have a ground wire? I'm getting no luck emailing the company is all.

just recently found your channel, and I'm super intrigued. I have an extra set of tail lights that I'd like to build for more car. I was wondering if it would be necessary to get the blueghozt lite if I just want the show mode (RGB)? I love the idea of being able to "plug and play" with this product so I'm definitely down to get it I just don't want the tail lights to look crazy bright when I go to hit the brakes or while I just have the running lights on. Love the content, watching many more tutorials for this build.

Quick Question. BlueGhozt for Exterior and Interior ? Or Blueghozt for exterior ( also custom Audio trunk) and XKGLOW RGB footwells w/Fiber optics for interior w Trunk since it has zones ? Im trying to plan this out correctly. I already have the XKGLOW fiber optics inside and footwell and now im super interested in the blueghozt and flowseries leds ? What would you think would be the best route ?

Super weird question mabye but do you need seperate blueghozts for back lights ands front lights?
@flyryde4 жыл бұрын
It’s not that you’d need separate units, is that you’ll run out of LEDs that you can safely run on one unit. You can do all kinds of stuff to one car and have them dialed in with one Blueghozt. The more I learn the more I’ll talk about it 👍

What are addressable leds
@imdbtruth4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend not using SK6812 LEDs... The updated versions are better, SK6822 or SK9822... If you have a strip of 20 SK6812 LEDs and the 3rd LED down the line fails, then none of the 17 pixels that follow it will light up either... But when a pixel on a SK6822 or 9822 fails, only that single LED pixel is affected, all of the other pixels will function as normal... WS2813, WS2815, and WS2818 also offer a similarly upgraded technology and should be used instead of using WS2812B or WS2811 LEDs... The SK style chip is slightly preferred over the WS chips... However the Cadillac of addressable LEDs is probably the HD107S, which is similar to the APA102/107, commonly referred to as Dotstars... My preferred addressable LEDs 1. HD107S, APA107, APA102, APA102C 2. SK9822, SK6822 3. WS2818, WS2815, WS2813
