I laughed when your son came out "daaaaad! Stop dat noise!!!" our two yr old would be crying because I started the car without him. Our 2018 gt is *his* car. The experience you talk about is definitely real when comparing older cars to newer. Keeping the RPMs around 3k and not being afraid to run and hold it at 6k-7k is wild. Feeling the car pull harder & harder through the RPM range instead of low end punch and tapering off. The Shelby cars are absolutely wild. We're lucky to be alive in the last golden age of horsepower in ICE vehicles. Congrats again on the Gt500.... you really ought to consider keeping this one forever, and get a second one slightly worn in to really have fun with.

Congratulations on the Shelby. They are amazing vehicles. I have had a few vintage Shelby's. I have owned a Shelby 427 Cobra since 2003.

Nice countryside. I've only Been to HB twice and pretty much stuck to the main highways. I was born in Carlisle but that was many decades ago. My wife grew up in HB. Last time I was there was for her father's funeral at Indian Town Gap. about 20 years ago. You would enjoy driving that car here in the Black Hills of South Dakota. One road alone has 314 curves and 14 switchbacks. There are 3 Pigtails.and 3 tunnels, all of which point to Mt Rushmore. You can understand why the Sturgis Rally is so popular

It's good to experience the old and new, I love my old cars but after driving a modern supercar a few days it's hard to enjoy the quirks of the older car and they can't match the performance, ride and handling unless you invest thousands. But, the old cars are awesome for cruise nights and car shows.

I have a 2020 GT with 401A optional dash, driving mode option and 10 speed automatic (with paddle shifters). I’ve driven manual transmissions my whole life but, unless you’re a professional driver, you can’t outshift that 10 speed. Besides, when you drop the hammer on these cars (and my car doesn’t begin to compare to your 500) it’s better to have both hands on the wheel.

Yes exact copy of the original. Both have ventilation and both have a removable rain tray that can be removed for greater flow.
