GT500 with track package $105K msrp(if you lucky to find one) verias GT350R is $72K as shown. Starting with 2019 GT350(base) has better tuned suspension and is $62K. I'll rather stick with GT350 base for one obvious reason - MT

You’re not getting an R for that or anywhere close. My Gt500 Carbon was hard to get at mssrp I paid a few k over sticker but nothing close to 20k. Love the R but almost impossible to buy. On a rod course the R is a wonderful car on X course not so much, same with Gt500. Put those cars on a road course and they really come alive. I’ve had my Gt500 for month haven’t gone to a road course yet but have to the drags twice. Ran a 10.7 best time in 99 degrees and on R compound tired lol. I love this cars complete capability for any track. Really shines on a road course from what Randy P says.

I'll still take the GT500. It's the better all-around performer (track & drag strip). 760 hp is a whole lot more fun than 526 hp, not to mention the other features like digital dash and 7-speed DCT. GT350R is a terrific track car, but a little lazy off the line at the drag strip since it has that flat-plane crank that inherently produces less torque compared to cross-plane crank engines. GT350R = track focused, GT500 = all-around performer (drag strip & track). Really depends on what the buyer wants in a car.

Big thing for me is a manual. As a "extra fun car" paddle shift cars are boring. Had a number of fat paddle cars. After a while they get old. Manual cars are different each time you drive them.
@chrism.7283 жыл бұрын
@@palefaced1 I love driving a manual, but horsepower/torque cures any boredom a driver may have regardless of transmission type. Especially if the driver uses these pony cars for their intended purpose, not just a commute to and from work.

@@chrischeek2963 GT350 engine internals are not as strong as the GT500, so you would end up spending the same amount of money after building a GT350 engine to handle boost. It wasn't about coming in first or second in the event. It was about comparing 2 of fords top of the line mustangs and having some fun. Yes the cars are out of their element but no one expected them to be competitive with smaller lighter cars. There cars are not even comparable besides very similar steering feel & suspension transition. The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Does 0-100-0 in a Blistering 10.6 Seconds. @@gigi9467 The 350R cost more because it's a limited production car that holds its value. Not to mention it's still available in a manual transmission. The flat-plane crank V8 makes it even more special. C8 will be a mass produced car, no manual transmission option, and it's still using a pushrod V8.
