Hi Rob , I agree with your title - this is bike for everything - from trail, over enduro and super hard DH. I am using it over a month now. I love it. The most complete bike in the world. As a owner of Demo, Enduro and Stumpjumper and now this - I can say to all ya chaps - you have everything in one fantastic bike and after riding this - you will skip all other bikes forever.

I was never really a fan of robs reviews. I always felt like it was just another case of cashing in on the e bike revolution. As a former bike tester for dirt magazine I know about the pitfalls of giving an opinion regarding a bike! This edit has changed my mind in regards to robs channel! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Excellent review Rob. I rode a 2019 Rocky Mountain Altitude Powerplay last weekend in North Lake Tahoe. I was very impressed with the seamless power delivery and the 48 Volt motor. I weigh in at 190 lbs with gear and I'm 5' 11" tall. Only size to test ride was a medium but should have been on a large. The motor is very quiet and I rode for close to 25 miles and used only 1/2 the battery. You definitely need to ride one. I can't wait to try the new Kenevo.

I bought mine a month ago and absolutely love it. We ripped up a few trails at Afan Forrest last weekend, Brechfa the week before and a whole load of trails last night in Swansea, it’s just wonderful. I’ve had trouble with the dropper post, thats being replaced next week with a Rockshox hydraulic unit and the resin brake pads are already shot on back and front, going to have an alternative fitted next week. It’s a bit of a lump when lifting over gates etc. I’m 60 an ex-trials rider, it inspires confidence and feels as solid as a rock, I’m so looking forward to riding Morzine summers 2020. The review was absolutely spot on in every aspect and detail. If you can afford one buy it now. There are also some zero % deals out there with no deposit if you look around.

I think the 27.5 wheels have something to do with the bike being nimble, 29ers are heavier and less nimble. I tried a mixer and hated my 27.5 front wheel being taken away , leave it to those racing, 27.5 is a lot more fun.

Rob, I don't know how much you realize this but if I'm not mistaken, you are riding much faster and better then you were last year!! good for you. I did notice your front wheel washing a few times. To help with this just lean the bike over a little more while steering the bike less (keep the bars a little less turned towards the turn yet light on the bars-put no weight on the bars) put weight on the outside pedal and if the bike slips it will be the rear or both wheels and it will slide slower. Once I started steering the the back wheel or adjusting the steering for more cornering to the rear wheel I no longer loose the front end in corners and have much more control and fun/speed. Thanks for a nice review, I just ordered my 2019 carbon Levo Comp dark blue, putting 27.5/2.8 tires, 170mm Lyric and DPX2 tuning for 160 travel to create a Kelevo!! My Bro already has built a similar bike and it rocks.

important thing to consider about e-bikes, long travel droppers, and Specialized's "S" sizing, is that there may very well not be room for a dropper post as long as you would like. the sizing is intended to allow riders to pick and choose their preferred reach, while still being able to fit on a wide variety of frames. this is neat for people who fit Medium frames typically, but it very clearly limits what will fit. TL;DR- a 175/200mm dropper isn't going to be specced because Spesh has foregone sizing based on height.

@imatusi5945 I'm happy with it. I wouldn't go any longer if riding any tighter turns or rolling over large, technical rocks, etc. If riding only super fast, open, bike park-type stuff the S5 would probably be ok. I would buy the S4 again if I was to do it all over.

Hi Rob A really good review, as always great content and filming. You mentioned, and I have read quite a lot recently, that the Specialized (Brosse) motors have a problem in the wet. Where I ride most of the trails are flooded at the moment with 6" + of water. I am riding a 2020 Cube Hybrid with the new Bosch motor and haven't had any problems at all with the depth of water. I'm looking at Specialized Kenevo or Levo in the New Year but if the bike stops every time I go through deepish water it would be a no no. @@HarryKuloh being philosophical, these things can be freak accidents. I got all the way down the chute and then the front wheel broke sideways on the mud on the flat runout. Small tree on right clocked my jaw. With a full face might have broken my neck. You can never really tell. Freak accidents are freak accidents. I'm less pretty now and can set off airport security machines with my heid.

Hey Rob, great review as usual keep up the good work. The new frame looks identical to the 2019/2020 Levo. What’s the difference?
@RobRidesEMTB5 жыл бұрын
HI Stephen, cheers :-) It looks the same. but has different geometry. For example its designed around 180mm travel and is much longer. You could argue it is just a badass Levo though!

But. Million dollar question. Would you swop your upgraded 2019 Turbo Levo for one?
@RobRidesEMTB5 жыл бұрын
Stephen Smith yes definitely.

An awesome review Rob ! Following this review I was about to order my Kenevo , but my local dealer (who carries many brands) says he’s been experiencing quite a few Levo Motor hinge fails , and he expects the Kenevo to have a similar problem, and recommends a more aggressive bike like Fentic or KTM . I live in Israel and the local trails can be quite rocky. WDYS ?

Great review and I subscribed and liked but if anyone from Specialized reads this, for me to pay that much cash this bike should be a 12 speed have better brakes and have wider rims.

You mentioned sore knees....from the video i cant help wonder if your seats not high enough?? It really looks like your down stroke leg wasnt extended nearly far enough....maybe?
@RobRidesEMTB5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're probably correct! The stock 160mm dropper isn't long enough for the S5.

@@RobRidesEMTB true. I just bought the s4 comp absolutely love this bike! It shouldn't, but for some reason climbs better than my old levo
