Would you choose Specialized's new Kenevo or Levo? Let us know! 👇
@davidking36995 жыл бұрын
I'd 'choose' the kenevo... just for the bigger size - which one I would buy? neither, both too expensive in the better incarnations... the base model kenevo loses a lot of spec for not much reduction in price... The S-works Levo is $18,000 in Australia... way too much... I think people who get these bikes from the manufacturer forget normal people have to fork out hard earned coin... and some have other financial commitments... so I can 'choose' which dream to have, but won't / can't buy either

I bought a Levo a year ago. It is capable of way more than my bottle (lack of) will allow so a no brainer for me. Plus I appreciate the lighter weight and 29" wheels
@davidking36995 жыл бұрын
@@embn yes, I know... I have the website bookmarked ... but when you start looking for the higher spec as a purchase (investment?) for a few years (because who can afford to change bikes every 6 months or put expensive upgrades onto a brand new bike), the prices go up and up from the base model... there are reasons to choose a particular spec... maybe the bigger battery, or the better components, and then it is a situation of 'no options', only the higher end model has that spec... I do like specialized bikes, but there are so many competitors in the e-bike space these days... I am the consumer, and I vote with my hard-earned money... if it doesn't stretch as far as a particular brand, then it flows to another place... I am not in a place to start a KZbin channel, grow subscribers, monetise it and then get free stuff as an 'influencer' - all the best to those who do, but I just can't see beyond the price tag in my current situation... If Specialized want to sponsor my 'old codger' bike packing adventures, they can get in contact with me easy enough... I'll even make weekly videos as I travel around Australia on their e-bikes...

I have both the 2019 Levo and Kenevo, and I find myself using the Kenevo a lot more. I just find it more fun, and the 180mm helps make up for my lack of skill and cushions those hard landings more. The 2020 Kenevo looks like an awesome machine. At the end of the day, the choice will be down to what terrain you do most of your riding on. My home is the FOD, and the Kenevo is really is at home there, especially on tracks like Y2K and Elephant Man.

On the brink of changing after spending the last year riding a gen 1 Kenevo . I've spent today testing both a Levo and a Gen 2 Kenevo ......... BOTH bikes are brilliant however making the decision of which bike to go for is I'm finding harder than the house of commons has had deciding on a brexit deal ! Had the Gen 2 Ken been a pig climbing I wouldn't be having this dilemma it was also extremely forgiving which encouraged me to push harder than i normal would have. The Levo though was subserviantly more fun, the 29er gripping and popping surprising well , light weight compared to the Ken and easier to play with. I felt it needed a bit more travel at times and bottomed out where as the Ken carried through. My decision will come down to what the terrain I commonly ride on is which is aggressive XC / trail and enduro ...... heart says Kenevo head says Levo

I just bought a new Levo Comp alloy, but I was drooling over the Kenevo and really wanted it bad. Thing is that that I was able to get the Levo for $6250 out the door, tax included, and that's on a bike that retails for $7500. The Kenevo was much harder to find a deal on, and retails at $9000, so about $9540 out the door. That $3290 difference was enough to buy a second entry level bike for someone to ride with me, so I got the Levo. But man I tell you, even the Levo is a total monster truck of awesome-sauce. I'm not sure what the 2020's were like, but two years later the Levo is a long slack mullet bike with huge + sized tires and power for days. I still want a Kenevo, it's so ridiculous and awesome that I just can't help it, so maybe the Levo will one day be the borrow out bike. Thanks for the video bud, you shred for a pensioner ;-)

Great review! I appreciate the attention to detail in the specs (vs other reviewers), and where those contribute to strengths and weaknesses. I recently got my 2020 Comp Levo, after riding a 2018 loaner Levo from the dealer for a few months. The new Levo is brilliant! I ride an e-bike due to asthma issues, and I ride rougher xc trails - for that, the Levo is so much nimbler than its predecessor, which I had to really muscle around. I also ride mostly with my partner, who doesn't need an e-bike, and doesn't like to do the scarier downhill stuff. That said, I do love riding downhill, and agonized over which model to buy. Your review substantiates my decision- I will ride Levo 95% of the time, since most rides around here are xc/enduro/all-mountain, and when I hit a downhill track, I'll simply rent a downhill bike.

i was 50/50 between going Levo SL and Kenevo SL. as main bike prior to this purchase was a canyon torque 180mm i was worried i would miss that extra bit of travel as was already sacrificing 10mm... probably didnt need it and the Levo attracted me due to the weight.. But, like you would expect the Kenevo Hammers through nasty crap with a little more confidence. But the Levo is really flickable and slows down a little quicker. I end up ridding the Kenevo more, since it makes you feel like you are ready for anything. The 2020 Kenevo is a little more stable, turns quicker, and feels lighter than the prior Gen Kenevo's that I had, but I really liked those bikes too. Overall I am a huge fan of Specialized E bikes, which among other things, have been perfectly reliable. To me, the geometry and overall design of the bikes could not have been better. Either bike, will make you feel like you made the right choice.

So Excited...and worried. I just ordered a 2020 Turbo Levo Comp but I'm starting to have concerns after reading a lot of negative customer reviews. It seems the Brose motors are EXTREMELY susceptible to failure. Many people claiming to have to replace the battery/motor yearly. When I test rode it, I fell in love. Now that I'm waiting for it and reading more.....I'm concerned. Seems the motor might need to be replaced often like other wear items, such as chain/cassette/brake pads. I understand people are more likely to rant and complain about a product that fails instead of working correctly, so I take negative review with a grain of salt. I also understand that this is new tech and that some people don't/won't take care of the bike properly. But, when people talk about replacing 3 motors in two years and many people report the same, I get nervous. Especially with the high cost of entry. Any input from owners (or Specialized/Brose) would be extremely welcomed. Cheers!

@@TheTomekka I've joined various Facebook groups and read through comments. Seems that every third post is from someone commenting on battery/motor issues. I've also reached out to a local friend. Her and her husband both have 2018 models. His motor needed to be replaced under warranty. I do understand that Specialized is doing a great job backing their products though and even fixing some bikes after the warranty period has expired. Plus, my LBS has great service so, I decided to take the risk because they are so freaking fun!

I got my levo expert in July, 750 miles later the belt on the motor started to whine. New motor fitted under warranty overnight. I then bought a Kenevo Comp whilst I was waiting. Yes the motors go, but the aftercare is epic.

Why can't I ride as well as Steve and Chris?
@danytheunicorn955 жыл бұрын
because you haven´t practised enough, give yourself time, a year ago I could barely ride a bike, now I can do pretty much everything Steve can do and 20% of what Chris can do, keep practising!
