This a an in depth look at my Specialized Kenevo Expert full fat ebike. I figured it was time for an updated review after spending 1200 miles riding it mostly in the PNW.

Small tip, 165mm crankset, I did it on my Spech Enduro S4 even in high mode and you skip 90% of the pedal strike. Great review btw mate, you might just have conceived me!

Nice. I’m not too picky on crank length but nice to know it’s a game changer if it’s an issue. Not pedaling too much heading downhill around here.

My Kenevo SL is 170/170 and it amazes me how good of a trail bike it is. I never feel over biked. It helps being lighter than a full powered but with f/r coils it handles everything from DH to tight trails.

I’d like to try some SLs down the road for sure.

5:10 you landed into the berm! My guy goes “think I overcooked that one a little bit” hahah love to see ya ripping around on that thing! The battery is quite impressive with easily doing 4k feet.
@LoamerMTB8 ай бұрын
Not only did I send it way deep but that was also a dead sailor! Not my best moment. Good thing the Kenevo figured it out for me 😂 Battery life is definitely solid. More battery in the bike than my legs most days.

Grinding the knobbles off the pivot bolts allows another 15mm or so insertion depth. Got a 210mm oneup in mine now. Perfect.

I've had my Kenevo for around a year now, It's the comp model so smaller 500wh battery and single crown forks. I now run a Zeb 190mm 29" fork up front, mixed wheels and a longer stroke shock for 190mm travel on the rear. Absolute monster truck that ploughs through chunk so well. Not so great at popping for jumps but then I suck at jumps so no great loss! LOL

Yeah that’s what I meant. I am suprised it is still at 100% battery health after that many charge cycles. How do you like the Levo so far?

The worst part of owning a Kenevo Expert is that it makes all other bikes useless : ) I ride everything on mine from park days (jumps and black tech) to goofy XC trails. It even makes flat trails more fun IMO because you can generate the speed for little side hits and popping off of roots, etc. Trying to decide if I will even keep my full DH bike at this point. This suspension platform is plush and poppy when you need it. Best geo on a bike I have owned hands down.
@LoamerMTB2 ай бұрын
It’s a fun ride for sure.

I’m toying with the new one of these against a levo expert carbon can’t decide on what to get
@LoamerMTB5 ай бұрын
If you ride gnarly DH trails go Kenevo. If you want something more well rounded for a lot of variety go Levo. I love my Kenevo and would not go Levo for the PNW and BC gnar but they are both great bikes.
@stephengrundy78165 ай бұрын
@@LoamerMTB see I’m in England so trails aren’t as gnarly unless your at a bike park but really I’m only interested in the downs not really into techy climbs or anything like that so I do want a bike that’s great for going down but can do a little bit of climbing too and capable of a big single track ride maybe once every couple of months
@JTHAMMER122 ай бұрын
I’ve read the dropper post doesn’t go down far enough? Have you experience this or know of any work around a?
@LoamerMTB2 ай бұрын
I’ve adapted to running my seat lower than I’d like when pedaling and higher than I’d like with dropper slammed. It works but it’s not perfect. A longer dropper with more insertion depth would be money. Still love the bike regardless.

Hi, thanks for your video, please help me, in my city there is a special price for the Kenevo 2022, is it good for cross country?
@LoamerMTB5 ай бұрын
No it’s a terrible bike for cross country but if it’s cheap enough it’s still fun to turbo around on flat trails.

Cool video of one of the most interesting e-bikes out there, a nice two bike quiver when you want to smash the downhills like you're on the Spire but don't want to pedal it back up! Definitely think more brands should offer a dual crown option, it's the obvious choice for a heavier 180 mm bike meant for DH riding with the motor boosting you back up. Currently going through the same Fox suspension tuning madness on the Spire, sometimes less is more for us non-professional racers. Would trade my Code RSC brakes for Shimano XT's in an instant, have the contact point set to bite as early as possible so it's feels kind of like Shimano, but not a fan of DOT fluid brakes and all the corrosion and extra maintenance with them, SRAM feels that way too with the new Mavens being mineral oil. Don't feel too bad about the neglected chain wear, wore my NX drivetrain on the Fuel EX far beyond 1% wear and had to replace everything at once too.
@LoamerMTB8 ай бұрын
It’s so nice having a self shuttle rig although I’d pretty much always rather be on the Spire for the downs. A dual crown on the spire would be kind of fun tho…
