The squier CV series have great pickups. If we look deeper in the construction, they use fiber bobbin. There's a lot different feelings you can hear between alnico Pickups with fiber bobbin and plastic bobbin. If you ever heard ESP LTD ST213, you can hear the similarities between them, because they also use the same pickup construction. Bottom line, the CVs are well made and equipped with great electronics. They aren't fender, yes, but it doesn't mean that it's not a great guitar to play. Thank you for the demo, you really enlighten us about the value of this guitar.

Adithya, well said. The stock pickups do sound very good! I find them to be slightly thinner than a Fender Custom Shop equivalent but they have a very soft, chimey, somewhat spongy feel that makes them feel good under the fingers.

@Slinkyguitarnerd2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mathias, I dig the CV pickups for what it’s worth. They are smooth yet chimey and have a very spongy feel under the fingers. The Bootstrap pickups will be brighter, woodier, scooped with more of an authentic vintage Strat tone. For the money it’s a winner.
@mathiasgombaud41472 жыл бұрын
Thanks you for this answer. I will stay with the stock pickups since I like their smoothness and I fear bootstrap 50 sparkles would be too spikey especially at low volume. Hi Hodia, we all hear things differently so I can't say whether or not it would be an upgrade. I think it depends on what you are chasing tone wise. I will say to my ears the Suhr's will be fatter, rounder, with more pronounced midrange. A bit more "organic" for a lack of a better guitar term. However, I think the stock pickups will be a tad brighter with more snap, chime and high end presence. The stock pickups are great but I don't think you can go wrong with Suhr products, they make top notch stuff!

@tecnoline573 жыл бұрын
Hello, Congratulations on the beautiful tutorials on guitars and amps. I wanted to ask you for advice: I am fond of the Stratocaster sounds of Clapton, Knoffler and Gilmour. I wanted to buy a Stratocaster with a price between 400 and 1100 euros. (CLASSIC VIBE 50/60 - PLAYER 50/60 - PLAYER 50/60 MOD - VINTERA 50/60 - VINTERA 50/60 MOD. - VINTERA 50/60 ROD WORN - AMERICAN PERFORMER). Which of these models are closest to the timbres of Clapton, Knoffler and Gilmour. I also like the idea of the humbuker in the bridge, since I get the clean sounds with the center and the neck. I always follow you. Best regards and happy holidays.
@Tommy-TwigFan3 жыл бұрын
I have played an american strato and own the classic vibe 50 and I can tell you that this classic vibe is way underpriced. Sure, the american sounded a bit better, but that was probably for the Fender 54 amp I had it running. The player is not bad at all also but for quality price this is the one imo.
@Slinkyguitarnerd3 жыл бұрын
I would first focus on what neck shape/profile is most comfortable in your hand, then fret board preference: (Maple/Rosewood). Fret size has a lot to do with play-ability and playing style, do you prefer smaller or larger fretwire..? What radius do you feel most comfortable with...? I would suggest playing as many guitars as you can until you find the one that "resonates" or "speaks" to you. I find that no two guitars are alike. There are so many variables that make a great sounding guitar that sometimes it can have little do with a price tag. For example, when the Fender Roadworn series where first introduced I played one at GC in Denver, Colorado. It sounded great but I wanted to buy two of them. The salesman stated they had 17 in stock. I advised him I would buy two of them If I can play them all and pick out my two favorites. He graciously accepted my request. I found two of them that were lightweight, woody/airy in tone, and had this 3 dimensional "bloom" to the notes that jumped out effortlessly with the slightest pick attack. The other 15 guitars suffered in comparison. The point I'm trying to make is not every guitar is gonna be a 10, regardless of the price tag, make, model or hype. You HAVE to play them and find that one that resonates with you personally. Play as many as you can and find that "one" that stands out to you!
