Here in California, a used Tesla Model Y costs above 45k. I know there are tons of people who bought it for the tech, or maybe something else but, I just don’t get why it’s very expensive for a “affordable” ev vehicle as Tesla used to claim (Supposed to start around 32k).

Even just looking at this I can tell the model Y rides hard and the sound insulation is lacking. The model 3 is way better in those regards

2023 Y is much quieter due to dual pane windows. Suspension updates made a huge difference in ride.

Wind noise is much more noticeable in an EV as opposed to ICE vehicles. The low drone of an engine/drivetrain at 2K RPMs counters wind noise a lot.

@@Molecan I agree, but Teslas do have a lot of wind noise. Our BMW with mild hybrid is much quieter than our Model Y at any speed/RPM. The new Model 3 supposedly resolves a lot of these noise issues.
