They were built with more safety technology than any car. There frame and body are the strongest components of any car, but a bullet proof. I can buy a $50,000 Porsche and have $50,000 left over to help my family. Porsches are a lot more fun, my opinion. Have you ever seen the BMW m5? You can buy it with the biggest V8 BMW can offer and your not lacking anything. You have great acceleration and speed with elegant luxury and ride. It’s not faster but it’s just as good. I think gasoline cars are more reliable.

I was saying "first generation" to explain in general that electric cars are still working on their foundations (e.g. credibility, reliability and usability) exactly like what you have been talking about. Remember the same thing happened with combustion engines in the early days too. Just by looking at the Tesla X's safety results it got the highest SUV rating ever with all 5 stars even in most subcategories or something, you can check it out for more accurate answers. If *any* of the electricity comes from renewables, then the electric is miles ahead environmentally. @@vantage224 Well that's true. Neither the Chiron nor the Roadster will be going top speed all the time. Even in a race on a dedicated track you have to slow down a little bit sometimes. Both produce waste gasses, but the Roadster produces *less,* and if there's even a little bit of renewable mixed in, less still. And the grid gets a little bit cleaner every year. Also, you can put all sorts of heavy scrubbers and such on a powerplant that you can't put on a car, much less a zillion cars.

You can drive a gasoline car for 500 miles then go to a gas station and refuel in under 5 minutes, then your good to go for another 500 miles depending on what car. What happens when your house’s electricity goes out for a week? Your car is sitting in the garage with no battery as it dies over time. A gastation will always be open. I would rather have a gasoline car that can go in snow........
