What worked for us. Have a blanket in the dog's normal bed so it gets all scented. Let Andie make it hers. Then everytime he got in the car, we put the harness on him and loaded hi. from the side door. It got him use to wearing a harness in the car and coming in from the side. We then put his blanket on the seat with treats and let the him jump in and sit and do all the usual training/praise stuff. Then it just a matter of using the seat belt adapter to clip him in using the harness. Started with small trips to the dog park with treats when ever he went quiet during the drive. Just slowly extended the drive time from there. Took about a month before we did our first trip with him in the seat. In that time, we'd still let him sit in his normal spot until we started clipping him in which was the month ish mark. Just gave him treats when be was quiet and would talk to him. Hope that helps and makes sense. 😊

Okay my favorite part was you hitting the deer that was funny! I'm a little disappointed that they're no arm rest second row and no automatic buttons to put the seats down at this price point. The 2021 Cadillac escalade is mind blowing I can't wait for you to test it!!!

Great review. Love the new driftwood inlays. I believe all the 2017 and onward switched to clockwise start and stop. I wish they didn’t.

Is there an option for a heated steering wheel? I also would prefer some buttons. I wonder if they have any plans to add that for 2021. Good luck with Andie! Maybe with lots of treats, you could coax her up to the backseats from the hatch area. Having her walk forward. Then lure her out the side door. And have a super great treat all ready to coax her back in through the side door.

I would just be happy Andie won't sit on a seat. My 3 act like the world is ending if I put them in the hatch. There has even been times that my wife has sat in the back seat so one of them can sit in the front haha 🤦🏻‍♂️

We had ours for 7 years and the interior will discolor but I’d say if you took care of it - it’ll be fine.

So if it was a no-cost option would you choose captains chairs or bench with dogs? We have captains chairs with armrests in a 2016 Acadia Denali and looking at XC90 T8/Recharge. For road trips with pups we stuff our bags in-between folded down seats and put the dogs beds side-by-side. Thr luggage is in thr rear.. But that is once or twice a year. Otherwise the inlaws are in 2nd row and would sure miss the arm rest with captain chairs in the XC90.

@@AndietheLab the beds are a Harmony Memory Foam Large. They fit side-by-side in the wider Acadia. We have a 60-lbs Lab-Shepard-Sharpei mix and a 70-lbs Pyrenees/Huskie mix.

I would love to see some reviews with dog crates, since dogs can become projectiles in a crash. Recently purchased the gunner kennel and looking for vehicles than fit with tie downs.

We don’t use crates, we use harnesses. Crates become very limiting for vehicle choices and many vehicles that can accommodate a crate doesn’t necessarily have the best cooling solution either (at least for my dogs)

It's more upscale in terms of materials and is rock solid in structure but the Telluride and its sister the Hyundai Palisade are just tops in terms of thoughtful design, features, value. I'm a big fan of what Kia and Hyundai are making now. European cars don't offer the same value.

Andi afraid of something? This cannot be! Did she hit her head perhaps early on while trying to get in through the side door? This could explain it. My friend's lab - Jackie - hit his head twice as a puppy on the door and since then refuses to go in through the side door on his own. It's either the back or someone has to stand between Jackie and the door and let him through.

Only 1 problem,, Its great to have a great sound system but unfortunately Volvo have a stupid annoying feature called, Sound Compensation witch basically changes Vol up or down according to Speed. Unfortunately & Arrogantly Volvo have taken away the ability to switch this useless feature off in the last system update.. I have the latest S60 und I must say it spoils what would be a nice drive.

My Family and I have been huge Volvo Fans over the last 16 years. We have had up to 5 of them in the garage and driveway at a single time. The new Geely own Volvos (SPA Platform cars) are indeed amazing, but sadly I can no longer afford one. They may have a competitive MSRP Entry price, but lets be honest Volvo does not make those cars and send them to dealers. I tried very hard to find and or buy a 2019 V60 CC, but they were rare as hens teeth, and the ones I did find were marked up unreasonably over 65K. I am afraid the Great Value for Money Volvo days are gone. Those of us who sang their praises and kept them afloat in the past can no longer afford to buy them. I ended up with a very well equipped Porsche Macan, and love it. And before you ask... It was less expensive than the every one of the V60 CC I could find on lots. So Sorry Volvo, I am phasing you out as the cars go on rotation as trade ins.

I completely agree, but Volvo is now Geely owned because they were bankrupt, so I guess they needed to charge more. Don't forget you can get great CPO cars, and Volvo offers a 10 year unlimited milage warranty on their CPO cars. You can get a gently used Volvo over 30% off that while still having piece of mind.

But there are also 3 Privatized car companies that were founded in the last 30 decades : Great Wall - BYD - and Geely. The 3 that are free from the state ownership are the 3 that have developed the most. Stop arguing with your « Volvo funds dictatorships ! » lines. Geely. Is. Private. It is like VAG, it is like JLR, it is like PSA, it is like FCA. They are a private car group like there are lots of them. You’re just pissed off by the idea of something funded by Chinese money being any good; searching a scapegoat to hate on Volvo. Grow up. Your phone, laptop, dishwasher, TV, is made in China. Is it good ? Yes. Volvo has never been in greater shape than before. They sold well, they can finally go all out on their cars like they did when Volvo was owned mostly by Volvo AB. The design, the engines, the quality, the engineering, has never been better.

Sir, it's not Chinese junk. The designers, engineers are European and these Volvos have higher tech, quality than when Volvo was under Ford or when they were independent. Lexus makes fine cars and one can like them better. Volvos engines are not horrible but one can argue that in this price range, the engine is small. The xc90 is a well-respected automobile.
