Hey Rob so what is the big deal with W mints? Are they just a little more rare than others? And also, are they worth more it just a cool find?

@@jaredcassard403 They are extremely more rare having only 2M minted of each of the 5 designs versus hundreds of millions as normal from Philadelphia and Denver. Most of the 2019's are still selling for $10-$25 as ungraded, unslabbed ones so a 40-100 times your return on investment makes them good finds.

I think the time lapse helps your cause... my buddy was saying ‘he plants the stuff there’ I told him the only think planted is in his garden, but it actually shows you cracking it open. Awesome haul bud!

Hi Rob! I had the great fortune of getting a box of uncirculated quarters which contained a mix of Weir Farm D and American Samoa W. Only searched 28 rolls so far and found 134 W's. There was also some errant Samoa D and 2019 quarters. It was awesome to find them all! I will let you know the final count when I decide to finish searching(I have been sitting on the for a month just because I don't want the HUNT to be over). And yes, the edges are a bit more shiny, and a touch thicker, but I have been fooled. The most I found in a roll was 9.

Just picked up a box like that..about half way through the box,already found 20 bats and no farms....the eadges are tough to spot...good luck !!!

I have one Weir Park W coin and it was found in the same roll as an American Samoa W Quarter. I didn't get a whole box though, just got half a box or so. I'm blown away that there were 13 W's in that box. Wow!

I’ve only found American Samoa coins in my Weir Farm uncirculated rolls, all of them are Ws though, I have 13 of them now. Also, funny that you mention the Lowell ones, I just picked up a box of UNC Lowells last week!

I think it’s because banks, especially smaller ones, are considered to have too many coin in their reserves based on people not working and tapping into savings, which leads them to get rid of their running inventory to maintain their figures. Same way I think that the mints had some left over Ws from the American Samoa and just sprinkle them in with the Weir Farm just to get them circulated.

Rob, Denver coins are tough to spot West Points in because the quality is better than Philly coins. all of our coins in Kentucky are Philly.

Nice score! I can definitely tell 2019 W's when I find them by the edges. They look a tiny bit thicker to me and I swear the reeded edge just looks more "crisp" if that makes sense. It's almost like the West Point mint has nicer machines or something like that. I haven't found any 2020's yet, let alone an uncirculated box of any coin yet.

Yup the edge is different. I've been able to find $9 worth of the bat quarters so far by edge hunting. No luck with weir farm uncirculated boxes.

When the 2020 Ws came out I went to the bank and got a box. Just about a month ago. It turned out to be a box that was predominately 2019 San Antonio. I would guess more than 95% were San Antonio. I was over half way through when I found it, 2019 W San Antonio.

Hey Rob, my dad got a box of quarters today. While we’ve only gone through about half of the box, we have already found over 70 2020 W Weir Farm quarters. Have you ever heard of this happening?? We are both at a loss for words Edit: we ended up finding 138 2020 w quarters out of 44 rolls. We kept 4 rolls that had w enders wrapped and kept 2 other rolls wrapped. We also found 5 2019 w quarters all in the same box.

You don’t have to individually look at each one,look for newest copper,easiest way,granted it’s not going to tell you whether it’s a P D or W, but it is a much faster way to go through them
