Hey Ryan, I was up at the Pass while you were filming. I see my Outback in one of your scenes (16:55). I was making coffee at the lake, enjoying the scenery. You apologized for making any noise. It was fun to see a car like that Acura up there kicking around in the dirt, not the normal rigs that go up there. I bought my 2020 Outback based on some of your reviews. Thank you.

@@pope9349 love my 2012 3.5 but this tlx is really nice, so is the 2015 model imo. this car is about as big as mine though, I wanted a TL quality TLX with things like double wish bones that the TLX originally dropped. My car is too wide for my clumsyness and my cracks mirror blinker shows. But this looks sportier than mine in everyway especially with the v6. i'm not a fan of downsizing the engine and adding a turbo and the j35 was proven especially on Acuras without vcm

Personally I would take the TLX over the Germans for reliability, performance/cost balance and it is a good looking car with great materials. The design inside and out is very cohesive. I love the direction of Acura and as a current owner of a Honda Accord I stand by the brand. I am ready for the MDX review it will come down to cost and needs when I am ready to trade but it will either be the MDX or the TLX.

I don’t think it really matters. How often are you really having 6’ adults in the back seat? If you’re that worried about space, average Jane would go for the RDX anyway. I’d say the higher ride height, trends, and the “prestige” of owning a CUV plays way more of a factor for the downfall of sedans. If space and practicality mattered so much, the wagon and minivan segments should be the most popular vehicles by a wide margin.
@rightlanehog3151
@rightlanehog3151 4 жыл бұрын
@@panzer_TZ A substantial percentage of the population is over 6 feet tall so rear seat space will surely matter to them. A wagon has always been more practical than a sedan but that certainly does not mean 4 door sedans have always been as impractical as they are now.

It is a good looking sedan. Price is not bad for the segment(Especially with awd). I'd say that this is possibly geared towards young professionals(With/without kids), hence why 4 adults would be uncomfortable here. Cannot wait for the FI V6. When it comes to the transmission/shifting, it seems like the German Trio have this dialed in(For a while now of course). Zero to sixty? not bad for a 4 cylinder, therefore as a whole, the price is not great but not bad either. The snow/O.R. portion is why this car is a serious contender(With the only hindrance being ground clearance). Great Review as always Ryan.. Thank you!!!! Edit: PS: LOVED the "Nerd Alert." lol

1. The 2021 TLX does not have "woodgrain" - it has wood. 2. You commented that the shifting was unexciting (9:00 to 9:30), but I didn't hear you discussing the effect of different modes specifically on shifting? That should be happening? Also in Individual mode settings you can tweak the shifting separately from other settings and create up to five custom modes with each function adjusted where you want it. You pointed out individual modes but ignored the obvious question of whether THAT would have addressed your complaint about shifting response. 3. The tighter-than-Accord rear passenger space AND trunk space are impinged on by a more sophisticated suspension. That is why! I rarely haul more than one passenger so I would choose the better suspension; if you often carry adult rear passengers, okay get the Accord.

7:25 The size of the TLX is actually just about right as far as I am concerned. I like a premium, sporty car but don't need or want the extra practicality of something larger.

there is lots of hype on this car and the type R, feels like honda is a pretty solid brand to go with because so many reviewers like them. but i think im going to wait till the type R come out to see which one i would buy.

The fact that you can’t get a panoramic for 50k and I have one in my 35k Camry is concerning. I’m gonna keep my Camry for a few more years and then I wanna get an Acura. Hopefully they’ll have stepped it up by then.

Now Honda needs to implement their SH-AWD System to keep its customers continuing being loyal. I love my 2018 Accord Sport, but the SH-AWD would be real nice.

Some newer Hondas have torque vectoring, which is a huge part of what makes the SH-AWD great.

I love the new TLX! Such a gorgeous vehicle. I have much interest in the upcoming Type S model. I really hope its 355 hp is enough to get the car's 0-60 time in the mid 4 second range. If the performance proves to be formidable, I will likely be buying one in a year or so. Paying off the house in '21. After that, the Type S will probably occupy a spot in my garage.

Don't know why Acura chose the Michelin primacy. I changed the Primacy to Michelin Defender soon after I drove off the dealer on my new RDX. tThe Defender ($225) actually cost less than Primacy ($250).

so i guess that 7 sec 0-60 from one of the media is likely an outlier since most other videos and reviews are saying it's close to 6 sec

Should be. the fwd TL with an older auto transmission did between 6.45 and 6.6. This has more torque early and loses less in the transmission. Also has a much shorter 1st gear due to being AWD with the 10 speed.

Planning to get a 2021 TLX - what tires do you recommend instead of the Michelins. I will see if the dealership can give me credit for a different brand.

as a TLX owner, its not just putting the dynamic mode into sport, but also on the gear selector into sport as well to get the optimal performance out of the vehicle.

SHAWS is a great system. I do still love the mechanical Audi quattro system more though. The TLX-S will be a great option though. I had the 07 Type S and that car was fun but could have use the SHAWD.

Do you think Acura will put out a redesigned RLX with the new design language? I think if they don't, they would not be competing with the likes of G80, E350, BMW 5 Series, Lexus ES350, etc.
