I am amazed that Honda even needs to have more than one spec for the silencers. I still have my 2017 which does not have bolts to secure those tubes but are welded in place. The tips of those tubes also do not have the gauze screens that yours has. I managed to get hold of a brand new, unused 2017 canister which I cut all along the rear weld exposing the tubes and the inner baffle plates. I cut the tubes back as short as I could and drilled several 10mm holes into the baffle plates to the point where I could no longer reach. I then welded (stainless) the two bits of the silencer back together, not sure of what this mod would produce. On startup it may have a little bit more throatiness, but hardly that you would notice

You can't beat a free mod. It's good to leave the screens on especially if your riding off road. The Forest Service here checks quite often.

Thanks for videos rely enjoy them I'm from Portugal I have a 2021 africatwin an I would live to do that modification But it seames my exaus parts ar welded or is it just a cover ?

I have heard the the non US bikes are welded. That suck’s because it’s a easy and great mod.

Inpossible but is two different exhaust on my version is this pipe welded permanently not bolted

How have you found the mod? Any issues? When you shortened that pipe it eliminates a chamber in the exhaust that the gases have to travel through in the muffler, thinking of doing mine.

Won't it create turbulence inside the actual muffler if the pipes are shorter? Have you had any issues since you've done it 2 years ago?
