Tony Bordonaro: 2005 Student Award for Artistic Excellence and Leadership in Dance recipient from Dance New Jersey
Tony Bordonaro is a choreographer, director, performer, based in NYC. He is one half of the team Welcome to Campfire: together with partner Ingrid Kapteyn they merge dance and theatre to immerse audiences in sci-fi productions about intimate human connection. As a performer he was in the hit Off-Broadway show “Sleep No More” from 2011-2016 and in the original cast of immersive shows “The Unbrunch”, “The Lost Supper”, and “Sleep No More” Shanghai; as well as commercials, television and film. His company work includes HT Chen & Dancers, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, Douglas DUNN & Dancers and as a founding member of 10HL. His choreographies for video include "RAT" directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson, the Oscars® winning student film “Opera of Cruelty”, music videos, and commercials for companies OPPO (documentary Ad “Bring Creativity to Reality”) and WOM. He was awarded a choreographic residency and fellowship with Mare Nostrum Elements Emerging Choreographers Series
and New Steps, Emerging Choreographers Series. As a dance teaching artists Tony has taught master classes at many studios and universities and was a Part-Time Lecturer at Rutgers University and Adjunct Faculty at Long Island University. TonyBordonaro.com
