A couple of pros giving an honest review and comparison. Informative and articulate. A fine piece of journalism for sure. I am 55 years old and riding since I had my drivers license. My final four were the Kawasaki z900rs Cafe, Honda CBR650R and these two machines. My final two were the Aprilia and Triumph. The Aprilia dealer is 1.5.hours from my home and 3 phone calls to the dealer left me with a feeling that they were not really interested in selling me a bike. Triumph dealer an hour away and immediately engaged me in the process of ordering and taking deliver of the Trident. I had the dealer fit the quickshifter which is a hoot. Now....the bad news....at 600 miles and one week after the break in service and quickshifter install the bike threw 3 codes. Trans fault, check engine and coolent temp high. Dealer assured me they were all quickshifter related. Bike has been at the dealer for 2 weeks. I had to trailer it there. Parts on order. Was thinking that modular triple from Thailand would be rock solid. Hmmmm........

Maybe you just had bad luck. In general I think that all brands are pretty reliable nowadays but there are always a few black sheep. The big Aprilia recall for the 660‘s wasn‘t even Aprilia‘s fault, a supplier just messed up so that could have happened to every brand. The Z900 RS is certainly a unique bike, great taste! Anyway, good luck on your motorcycling journey, I‘m just starting mine right now by getting my license

Rode both bikes and my conclusion is that trintet 660 is more designed for beginners it's a very solid and smooth bike but it revs slowly and in a more friendly way for the experienced rider the bike feels kinda lackluster and boring. While Tuono 660 has a more playful nature and is suited more for an experienced rider who wants a rational sports bike on the street and track.
@rbattson71719 ай бұрын
It should be mentioned, that the tuono really has to be spanked to get the best out of it, which is fine if you like the track. When you look at reviews the Trident some say is smooth and a bit boring. If your riding an MT07 or MT 09 I would understand why they would feel that way. Hooligan comes to mind. My other consideration would have to be the KTM Duke 890. That power delivery on that bike is awesome and it makes a great all around bike. Because they’re not in the same category, not really. It’s a very strange comparison. In the UK at least, the Triumph sits with the Z650, MT07, SV650. not really in same class tbh......rider has to determine what their looking for. i think people looking for either of these bikes are looking for different things.....i looked at both tbh but went KTM in the end...RS is too expensive and aprilia is as well .....trident was just a little on soft side.....dont want to be switching bikes quickly or being stuck with something kinda blah....not to mention everyone in so cal is marking up the price so MSRP goes out the window......triple RS becomes 17k OtD, trident becomes what the triple should be and aprilia comes in just short of a 1100 tuono.....price is always a factor.......the KTM had the best deals for me anyway..... wish the tuono was closer to a 800cc bike in 115-120 hp range....that would be sweet ass bike

Matte is cool, no arguments there, but it always needs to be an option, it’s a pain to care for long term so it sucks when you can’t choose a normal paint job

Buyer beware! My Aprilia Tuono 660 broke after 9000 miles. And now my engine has to be replaced under warranty.

Trident = a slow tourer for the elder bikers with affordable price Touno 660 = sport naked that's literally a rs660 with better comfort. Comparison = no

They are both sport nakeds and are both marketed as such

Non-pro tip…don’t say “yea Michael” it instantly serves as a shocking reminder the conversational format is still rehearsed. I get that it has to be, but no need to remind us, and nobody says the other persons name in normal non show business/news conversation. BACK TO YOU, ADAM. 😅 Now I have to rewind 3 minutes because i totally missed every word you guys said while I was typing this

yeah all that part of the exchange did was remind us that maybe all of what your saying is predetermined rather than how info comes out in the course of a real discussion

How is the Aprilia a "sport naked" as it has a fairing??? Also, Aprilia is one of the worst rated in reliability... These guys are schills

Ya I don't get that either what the hell is a sport naked? That's kind of an oxymoron.
@c0dy12873 жыл бұрын
I used to own an older Yamaha that was just a half faired naked bike and it kinda just looks like Aprilia's modern take on it, but I still essentially see a half faired naked bike, handlebars with the more upright position. I'm guessing it just sounds cooler and more marketable to say "sport naked" but I also don't really see a problem with that either.

good format. dude on the left needs to stop putting words in waheed's mouth, and saying things like "just to get back to..." or "where i wanted to go with that was...". not that it was particularly wrong, but just that it doesn't really flow like he thinks it does. leave those preambles and qualifications out and you'll be golden.

India difference is both bike have 50% price , 10 lac rs trident and more then 15 lac rs tuono 660 , 😂

What the hell is 'approachable'? What is 'engaging'? Why would a bike be 'approachable' (meaningless) YET 'affordable'? Why yet? Marketing speak drivel.
