Great review. Had this exact same bike for a couple of months now and am about to do the first service. I commute in the Paris region and do a lot of city riding and some weekend twisties. I love it overall. The only weak points I've found and the back brake is weak, there are vibrations in the mid to top of the rev range and I have had indicator problems. I will probably add heated grips and the slightly higher wind shield. But it sounds great, handles beautifully, and looks fantastic. Had more people making positive comments then on any of my past bikes. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun commuter and weekend machine.

Fantastic real-life experience, thanks for sharing! Buying one next Spring, was wondering about that larger windshield, and also thinking about heated grips. I hope you post back here what you end up doing, and how it works out. Cheers from Vermont!

Great video as always matey... My thoughts - Yamaha MT-07, £6'899 || Triumph Trident, £7'195 || Aprilia Tuono 660, £9'700 || Street Triple 765RS - £10'700 The Aprilia is a beautiful piece of Italian Exotica & that's what you're paying for. Personally, & of course my view is biased, If my price range was around the £10'000 my heart would still be drawn to the 765RS. And if I was really budget focused I would get the MT-07 & save myself nearly £3'000 over the Aprilia... You are paying to own an High Tech / Low displacement Italian beauty... I am pleased she exists.

Great comment from you as expected and yes totally with you there... Aprilia are filling a gap in the market though I believe but I reckon the Yamaha R7 will sell extremely well in comparison to the Tuono 650 just because of price I suspect. I would be hard up to chose between the two engines too

Good review. I have the RS 660 and comparing to my 765 Street Triple (track version), it is a "crackin wee bike". Overall I rate the RS 660 as a 7/10, the 765 Street Triple would be a 8/10.

Nice review. Very specific commentary on the chassis and handling.Thanks and also thanks Andy. A car hit my 2020 Street Triple R. Unlikely to be repaired for me by the insurer. I am thinking of the new Tuono 660 Factory. I ride around the city most fine days and enjoy twists but not insane speeds. The Aprilia is a bit more in price than a new Street Triple R where I live. What are your thoughts?

Hello, and good morning Bikes of Rye. A quick question to ask, if I may.... I have ridden bikes on and off for many years, but never over 100cc, and now I've done my test in the UK, I am looking at a 660 Tuono, or a v2 streetfighter as my first bike. Now money no object etc.. How feasible is it to get a V2 streetfighter, and ride it in rain mode all of the time... circa 100bhp, than getting a Tuono which is circa 100bhp all the time. Yes this may sound very vain, but I am drawn more to the Ducati as of the looks, styling, and road presence, but need your expert opinion on whether rain mode V2 will be the same as full power Tuono. Thank you.

Gotta comment on price. At least in the US, the Tuono is $10700 / Factory is $11k. They're currently marked down to $9000 and $9500 near me. That falls right between the 790 Duke (still 105hp here) ($9200) and 2024 Street Triple R ($9999) below, and the Street Triple RS ($12600) and 890 Duke ($13k). The MT-09 SP is only a few hundred more than the 660 Factory, but getting one of those is nearly impossible

ABS Traction snd a couple of modes - what do need? But if you need more, the new Japanese are right up there. The answer to price also has to do with volume. aprilia, Ducati - these are cottage industries relative to the Japanese.

How does it compare to the street triple?
@BikesofRye3 жыл бұрын
The Street is noticeably quicker, better brakes and more focused suspension set up to be a road/track bike. The Tuono is more road friendly softer machine yet packed with great electronics. Though you do have to consider there isn't much difference in price in the U.K between the Tuono and the Street so the Tuono is pricey...
@toshy3 жыл бұрын
@@BikesofRye Better brakes on the Street Triple?!?!?!? The Tuono you had for the test drive must have had faulty brakes, I can't find another reasonable explanation for what you said. No offense, Triumph makes great bikes, but the brakes on the Street Triple S are pure crap, and the ones on the S and RS are still a bit worse than the ones on the Tuono/RS660.
@BikesofRye3 жыл бұрын
Brakes were definitely not faulty and I didn't compare the brakes to my Street Triple... but if I am honest the brakes on the Street Triple offer more power and bite without question
@toshy3 жыл бұрын
@@BikesofRye All right, I see you point. They might be set up a bit different on the S/RS Striples, to have a bit more initial bite, and indeed all Aprilias have rear brakes that are set up to feel lazy (lacking a better term).
