2021 BMW X5 M50i: Start Up, Exhaust, Test Drive and Review

I'll never forget the first time I heard "the ultimate driving machine" way back in 1986 and they don't call it that for no reason, still gives me chills! This X5 is so dope you'd probably need to be careful who you let know you've got it. They would either give you congrats on your new ride or judge you and be jealous and talk bad about you. Sad but true.

if anyone is looking at getting this BMW I totally recommend. My mom has this car and it is amazing!!! also there isn't 2 buttons for the massage seats on the drivers door panel. One of those buttons allows you to move the passenger seat with the drivers controls. A very handy feature more cars should have!!

That is a nice feature. My 2017 XC90 Inscription T6 also had that feature...only, you had to go into the laggy-ass touchscreen and select "Control Passenger Seat", or something like that, to be able to do it. I'm not sure what Volvo's aversion is to actual buttons, but it's good to see some automakers not go down that rabbit hole. I'm awaiting delivery of a 2022 X5 xDrive45e with all the options (including the M Sport and Luxury Seating) and am pretty excited.

Picked up my 22 M50i 2 weeks ago. Amazing car but they did eliminate a few basic features and blamed the "Chip shortage “. Fog lights, and wireless chargers seem to be most obvious, but the elimination of seat releases in the rear is annoying, and does not require a chip. Another strange one is winter mats not available, had to buy Weathertech since the G05 2019-21 are slightly different

Congrats on the purchase! But there is a chip shortage for sure, and lots of brands have had to sell vehicles without certain options which is crazy to see! What seat release are you talking about? I was able to fold these seats down fine with the release! And the mats could either be a short supply issue or they just don't make them for it. Most people go aftermarket because it's so much cheaper than from the dealer!

The BMW X5 is a nice SUV, but yeah you might have to wait a few months! This dealer's inventory is coming off the truck and right out to the customer! Crazy times to buy a car, but a great time to sell one lol!

Europe also has the M50d, which has a 400 horsepower quad turbo inline six diesel. This engine got discontinued for the X5 and X7 in September, but they’re continuing to make the X6 M50d.

Nice review. Though only the true full M (X5M, X6M, etc) vehicles are offered with the M Drivers Package. Also both the instrument cluster screen and infotainment screen are 12.3".

Not sure why I said 10.3, but that is right on the screen and I was just stating in general because a lot of people always comment on the top speed so I just mentioned the option of that package.

The X5M is a different build altogether from the M50i. Only the M Division gets the M Drivers pkg. The M Sport pkg is something different.
