2021 Bronco Winch Bumper by Bodyguard

I like the different look with all the new parts and it's always good to have a winch and better protection. My initial thought is I feel like I might like it better if the bolts were all black but then again it could be one of those things where I like it more as is once I get used to it or if I saw it in person. It's amazing how much you have changed and improved the look and function of your Bronco in such a short time. I think it's a great feature of the Bronco being able to set it up to be unique using bolt on items anyone with a decent set of tools and knowledge can install.

Bolts would have to match the bumper for me to buy. I would be interested in the impact to the airflow for the intercooler and how the front camera would look.

The bolts have grown on me a bit, but I did order some black ones as well as I think I will probably like it better with them black as well. but we will see :)

I like the rock rails and the bumpers But like many have said those silver bolts are very off putting. I hope the company offers black bolts as an option. Looking forward to seeing it when you switch to black bolts.

Give me your thoughts on the front bumper. I am very interested in it as a winch solution that doesn't block the grill camera. It looks great!

The bumper looks sweet with winch installed,I do prefer the stock bumper especially with the 3 led pods in the openings...looks great so far though!!

I like that winch location. Hopefully the side airflow to the intercooler works well.

I think that the only thing that I really don’t like are all of the stainless bolts everywhere. Some black hardware would be great. Maybe the choice - for those that like that almost riveted look or not. The winch is tucked up as much as it can be it seems - and I guess we’ll have to wait and see if it affects the intercooler at all. Hopefully you can update us on that in the future. 👍🏻

Thanks, I found some black replacement hardware that I will swap out and see how that looks in comparison, . Looking more and more like I will have to drive to Vegas for SEMA as going to miss the cutoff for transport waiting on parts, so that should be a good test of how/if it impacts intercooler.

I agree the Ford Warn winch kit is ridiculously expensive. The Bronco modular bumper has a lot of exposed bolts as well.

Good vid. I love the shape and design of the bumpers, but I’m not loving the silver bolts on black. There are too many bolts and they make it look way too busy for my liking. If they were black anodized like the stock bumper I would be 100% on board.

I ordered some black bolts to swap them out with so we will see how it looks with them black, my guess is I will like it better too though the stainless ones have grown on me a bit.

What you said, blocking the intercooler. I would install the winch under or above the intercooler.

been driving it a year with no issues so far, still the moment the high mount intercooler from Mishimoto is released I will be grabbing it.

Like the bumper not really liking all the crome bolt/screws. Where you put the non working sensors I would have used the little accent led lites. Let us know on turbo heat looks like a lot of air flow to intercooler is blocked.

The bumper and winch looks great. It sits pretty low too which looks like it wouldn't block the front camera. What are you thought there? thanks.

It shouldn't block the camera too much, but they do have their other bumper option which has a camera relocation bracket on it so it for sure will not interfere.

Looks good except the 500 white bolts on the bumpers. Maybe it looks better in person?

It does look better in person I wasn't a huge fan when I first saw pictures of them either, but I do have black bolts on order to replace them all 😉

What lights did you use in the front and rear bumper? I ordered these exact bumpers after watching your vids. I ordered with the black bolts. Thanks for sharing!

Wish you would have indicated how the front radar would have been incorporated had that been a feature on your vehicle. So far, I've not seen a winch solution that does not block either the camera or the radar.

@@EvilleTruck , while their promo materials show the adaptive cruise control item in that photo and I have seen SEMA videos where they say it is available, it is NOT (as of 11/26/2021). When I go to their website to order the bumper, there is a bullet item on their "FEATUERS" list that reads........ "Adaptive Cruise Control NOT compatible at this time (coming soon!)." This seems to be a hugely common issue with the after-market bumpers that I am seeing advertised......nobody seems to have successfully figured out a successful adaptor or relocation kit that works as it is supposed to. I hope they get that figured out soon since I really feel like the Bodyguard bumpers are pretty much exactly what I am looking for.

They come in the Stainless steel, I have found some replacements in black though so will see how they look.

How does air get to the intercooler?

So far it seems there is enough air getting to the intercooler, I was a bit concerned as well at first but there is plenty of room for air to come over the winch and get into it as well as air coming in through the bottom holes where the bash plate connects to bumper.

My Outer Banks will be Built next month, but I only have the standard bumper and would love to upgrade to the modular if possible. I just sent you an email to see if we can work something out!

What engine do you have? The intercoolers are different. Will the 2.7L engine intercooler get he same amount of air as the factory steel bumper? I’d love to see reviews on the operation of the front sensors, front camera (with the 360 view), and the adaptive cruise control sensor. Thanks for the video! I’m looking for a winch solution the works with the Badlands Sasquatch lux package

I have the 2.7 , I was a bit worried about the intercooler getting enough air at first too but seems to be getting plenty haven't had any issues with it. I have seen the camera view when using the camera relocation on the baja version of the bumper and it looks perfect, not sure how it looks with just the base bumper like I have since I dont have them :(

Off topic question, how does your bronco perform with the 35s. I imagine you have 4.27 gearing, notice any difference on highway or cruising?

Black Diamond comes with 4.46 gearing so right between 4.27 and Sasquatch , no noticeable change in feeling or pep , but definitely a couple of miles difference in mpg

yeah some how in Fords mind the mount and winch ( you can't buy them separately ) are worth $3500 to add to your existing bumper.
