If you’re a Cadillac fan, you know that the ATS sedan has been replaced by the CT4. You may even know that there’s a V-series version of the CT4. What you may not know, is that V doesn’t quite mean what it used to. Confused? Well, whether you’re in the know, or looking for answers, our next test of the CT4 V-Series should help.

How is it good on Caddy when, according to perpetual liar Mary Barra, GM is going to be all-electric in less than 15 years? Seems counterproductive to spend billions and billions on ICE choices when they are going to become obsolete. Oh well, at least Barra got a lot of press out of her ridiculous claims for the future.

Lots of hate in the comments but this CT-4-V does perform as well as the original CTS-V while getting about 45% better fuel mileage.
@RenlangRen
@RenlangRen 10 күн бұрын
I own and love my ATS-V. The CT4-V is not way close to a CTS-V. The CT-4-V blackwing is the competitor to the older ATS-V. The CTS-V was a fire breathing beast with the supercharged V-8 from a corvette LS1. The CT4-V gets much better gas milage than a CTS-V because the CT4-V has 325hp while the CTS-V has 640hp.
@NasaRacer

@@RenlangRen They are great cars. In my comment from a few years back I was referring to the original CTS-V with 400hp from like 2004 and how the new CT-4V with the turbo 4cyl performs better and gets way better mileage than the old car. But of course it is no match for the current supercharged V8 Blackwing.

IKR, these 4 cylinders are becoming too ubiquitous. I own a LT1 powered GM Coupe and had to drive a Malibu this pass weekend. Nice looking car but the performance of that 4 cylinder engine was a dam sin. Couldn’t believe a 2021 model year car was that underpowered. Cadillac is a premium nameplate of the GM Corp, the V6 engine should be the dam standard 😉

Interesting car here . I find it looks edgy, in a good way from the front and sides. BUT The rear styling , not as much. I hope they tweaked that Turbo 4 from the Silverado truck it came from, higher redline , or different intake , but not sure. Still it , it's pretty fast, handles, and is we'll appointed inside. I'd probably take it over a standard or mid-level BMW 3 series though. Nice car and review.

@Kinky Streets not for 2008 CTS-V with 650 hp 6.2l supercharged. They used a heavier duty diff and MRC shocks that put them as record holder in 4-door sedan on the 'ring. I was not a fan of runflat tires for the 2005 but the LS was a beast. Plenty of brakes from the Brembos foe track duty too.

@Kinky Streets now the Alpha based CTS, which also shares with ATS, is on a whole another level! Did drive the CTS from 2013 onward but had a ATS for a few years. The chassis feels like it was chiseled from ingot and is the best in the business. The old CTS shared with the SRX 3-row crossover so I'm sure there were compromises. The Alpha ll is under CT4/CT5 and Cameron today. The Cameron is another excellent track especially compared to the Mustang and Challenger in that segment.

@@syxepop insane. 400 hp / 400 lb-ft is half-ton v8 territory. If you throw that powerful of an engine into the Canyon it will Cannibalize sales of the more profitable Sierra. You really don't want more than 300hp / 300 lb-ft in a midsize truck.

@@dave3682 - right now output levels of the NA-3.6L on the Canyon are superior to the base NA-4.3L on the Sierra (both NA-V6's) and that hasn't happened. This output level would appear ONLY in a topline Canyon (AT4 or Denali) and would be PRICED NOT TO COMPETE with its' larger brother. Reminds me of my Fusion dumbass car would randomly die in would drain its battery overnight took it to Ford and they said they couldn't find the issue so one night after charging it for work with my jump starter on my way to work state patrol lost control of his Ford Explorer and hit the back of the car totaled it sure I was hurt a little bit a little scuffed up but I was so happy that car was out of my life

Good Lord the daytime running lights look like a cat with eye infection drainage and the back end looks like an abortion on toast. Aside from that, good 0-60 numbers 😆

I like the package. Would I take this over a 330i or a Alfa Romeo Guilia? Dunno.... Tasty proposition though.

It's a better driver than the 330i and, as much as I like the Alfa, will crush the Guilia in quality. I'd take the CT4...

The only sore spot for me is the interior. Far too much matte black plastics on switches, trim & instrumentation shroud. It has a "bargain basement" appearance. They could've done better, at least offering stainless steel keys, carbon fiber or wood grain shroud, etc. After all, this IS a Cadillac.

I like this car in general, but why in the HELL did Cadillac give it that ugly "Bangle Butt" like they bought old BMW inventory to save money on Production costs?? lol

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t believe that people really cross-shop anything from GM with the European luxury brands.

True, ever since BMW messed up their steering the Cady is the driver’s car and the BMW is the poser.

Sad to know Cadillac has taken the power out of a cool, very few to begin with American made car.
