For those of you new to Rick’s vlog: One of the things I like about Rick is that he’s upfront and NOT alarmist about things. He tries to put out the REAL info and not the hyped-up click-bait BS so common on KZbin. I’ve been buying Corvettes from Rick for years and he doesn’t bait & switch, tell you what you want to hear just to make you feel good, lie to get your business or other disingenuous crap. He’s real, down-to-earth and an all around nice guy. In a car sales world full of sleazy manipulators (sorry, but it’s true) Rick is a welcomed breath of fresh air. When you described the ‘WRONG ADDRESS SITUATION’ my jaw dropped!! This is exactly what happened to my order!! All of a sudden my address on my ordered SRE order has changed and is incorrect! My dealer added an option for me the last week of Feb and when they sent me the the updated order, all of a sudden my address changed to a different state! Now that it is past March 1st, I dare not change anything else. I can deal with this price increase - no deal breaker on this. But certainly odd that addresses are changing on sold orders? Thanks Rick for the update.

It appears if you want to step on this C8 "Crazy Train" the key phrase is "Be Patient" and when in doubt see that phrase. Wife says if you can wait to retire until 9/28/22, I can order a new Corvette, I hope to be patient and not expect a 23 but hopefully a 24. Thank you for being honest and transparent instead of reaching for headlines.

Having worked for Corvette C6 & XLR I SUSPECT SORP for 22 would be longer than 7/26 to allow time to build CAP and if there is a Z06 time to get tools installed.

I can relate to all the people who are waiting and how tough it is. Waited 14 months for the C8 and the approaching 7 months of waiting on the TRX. But I promise the C8 is worth the wait and the frustration goes away the second you get it. Hang in there everyone. Thank you Rick for being honest and upfront and not dramatizing the news. Very informative Rick, thank you. However, I find the price protection issue associated with a wrong address showing up on the sold order sheet due to a Chevrolet glitch very disturbing. If Coughlin can’t resolve the issue with Chevrolet (apparently a known issue), then Coughlin should take responsibility for the price difference. Coughlin and the customer entered into a sales agreement and the customer should not be the one to be penalized. It also bothered me that your solution to the $1k difference is the customer pay it or they don’t have to take the car - what happened to the concern about Coughlin possibly being penalized because the customer didn’t take delivery of the sold order. Bad business practices by both Chevrolet and Coughlin. Sorry for adding to your headaches but this is just wrong.

Inflation in our USA has averaged 3% the last of 10 years. 3% on a basic C8 60,k car is $1800 so my fellow Vette Fans your car experience is far more important in the scheme of life. Enjoy your exciting C8 have fun and live large !

Great information on the 2021 market Rick looks like it's an unknown for the future pushing them also till next year and 2022's. Hopefully GM will follow the price protection on orders otherwise they could lose lot of customers which may just start dropping out. The way you explained hit the nail on the head "i just don't know". They really need to beef up the suppliers and maybe they need another assembly facility. Have a great day Rick. Tom from SC.

Rick, great information! Cant beat cold, hard facts! What i cant believe is that Chevy would even accept orders that are TRE (coded for inventory). I thought all orders had to be SRE (sold retail). But, i find it interesting is that one of the Top 40 corvette dealers has 8-10 NEW C8's on their website & from what I was told by my local dealer that they are in fact in the dealers showroom with a markup of $15k for coupes and $20k for HTC's. How can Chevy allow (?) dealers to have non-SRE cars on the lot? Very confusing? If they were used, i'd understand. What i appreciate tho' is Ricks honesty and awillingness to provide with good information! Thank you so much!!!!

What i said a few months ago 20000 cars and 1000 plus option increases is about 3 or 4000 plus the 1500 cov19 cleaning

The unknown of how many orders will be pushed from 2021 to 2022 and affects my placement in 2022. Hopefully it will not cause any issues with my future order because when we spoke on the phone I explained I was in no hurry and looking for May/June 2022 delivery. As alway thank you for the information explaining what is happening without the hype. To the point and direct which gives us an understanding of what to expect, good and bad. It is this integrity and honesty which you have consistently shown and display each day which builds the the bond of trust between you and your customers. When I see a headline on KZbin with some “Breaking”, “Just Released” information about the C8, I first go to your channel to get the “Conti” hype/rumor check. Nobody else I would purchase my C8 or get the Breaking News from!

With that said, you are not the CEO of General Motors and therefore you don’t make the rules. So you cannot have all the answers and we viewers should stop expecting such. COVID is still out there. Nothing is normal and won’t be for another year or more. The Corvette supply chain is struggling with cost increases like every other business entity. Let me get this straight , 75+ thousand dollar car (+/-) , your fortunate enough in life to be able to afford one of them ( I’m one of them ) , and your getting twisted over this . Please , we are very fortunate, you’re driving yourself crazy over this . I remember picking up C7 back in April 2019 and Rick and I talked about the C8 , I remember saying I’ll wait until the newness wears off , I already waited 50+ years to get one , Whats a few more years . I'm on my dealers list but looking like I'll fall off the 2021 to the 2022 allocation but they'll give me the option. YAY!! And looking forward to the Z06 reveal. I got on that list too so I'd have the option when details come out. Looking forward to any new features for 2022. Hoping for Adaptive Cruise Control, I think that should be standard on cars, or maybe some low level of lane keeping notification the driver. That's about $17.00 per month in a payment. (Depending your cost and on amount financed) Most people blow that in a couple days on stuff...coffee, fast food, entertainment, etc... The car is a great deal for what you get at any price near here!

I wonder my guess is 2023 z06. Next year summer car. So that might be last gasoline naturally aspirated corvette. Demand could be crazy. This car could be in short supply for 2 more years frankly.

Rick I'm in your same boat at another dealership as the Corvette specialist. I believe GM changed the names and addresses and phone numbers due to privacy laws in California. I believe there was an email on Global Connect about it. I always nod my head at your comments...Because We Don't Know! But what I do know is the C8 is an awesome machine!!
