Sub 3 second 0-60 mph is very impressive for a stock, naturally aspirated sportscar on street tires on an unprepped surface. The most impressive part is the starting price for that type of performance.

The engineers have done a great job matching the torque peak with the 8 speed dual clutch. Otherwise, is total acceleration is poor. Look at the blown version, the Camaro ZL1-1LE vs the Shelby GT500. To 100 mph, the Mustang beats the Camaro by ,1 second. When the GT500 reaches 160 mph, the Camaro is 5 seconds behind. It's all because of the 1954 design with pushrod-activated non-crossflow two-valve heads. Very flow restricted, as is the C8. But the new Chevy DOHC engine will solve this problem.

Stanny1 That’s not an accurate reason of why the gap is created. The ZL1 can either beat of tie the GT500 in the quarter mile. By the time that passes, the 110 plus HP gap in the two cars shows up. Plus in the 1lE trim it has more downforce areo that creates drag. That’s where the old racing saying comes into play of torque gets you there, HP keeps you there. The LSX/ LTX heads flow like nobody’s business. If GM (which it looks like they won’t) put the LT5 from the ZR1 in the Camaro, it would trash the GT500 in all tests because the HP gap would only be 5 hp.

I wish i could get the C8 but you cant get anything for the C7 s now.. I paid 72k for my 2016 and i went to see what trade was on it about a year ago with 3k miles and i was floored by what they said.. 47k insane .. so i'm stuck with this one .. but love seeing you out buying all the best american muscle out there.. your living life to the fullest for your age brother.. IM 54 yrs old and didn't get a corvette till i was 50 and only then because of a accident i was in , in 2014 that almost killed me. so i got a decent amount of money for that but have some extra titanium parts to live with the rest of my life. but i got a vet out of the deal.. so respect to you sir.. keep doing what you're doing.. love it..

Skip741 x ....even with a lot more power 2 seconds would likely not be achieved because of traction issues. Even with 700-800 hp The car Would likely need to be all wheel drive to hit 2 seconds. There is no production car in the world that does 2 seconds flat, although the AWD porsche 918 recorded 2.1.

I got 2.8 in my 2024 1LT. But we know that the dash timer is not as accurate as a draggy time... 2.8 on the dash timer is more like 3-3.2 on draggy

The enthusiasm is so wonderful, it almost sounds as if you had an accident. So much fun just watching you have such a good time. The rarity of this car is still so fresh that it is so much more than just getting a new car or even a new Corvette. Chevy just put an Exotic in the hands of Speed Phenom. How many times in your life you will get this thrilled and this excited. Yes, the thing hooks up better than the hottest date of your life when she said yes. And of course, you didn't listen to Jay Leno when he says he never uses launch control. Red Rock. I think I heard of it. Sport or track? I say sport. Competitive Drive Mode. Correct key in the car, needed also, which you mentioned. Wow! How do you run into a random drag strip. The other reason is that if you want the best zero-to-sixty time, then you don't do burn outs. They are the opposite of each other. What is the elevation where the drag strip is? Too much tire slip to get a good time. Reconfigure to eliminate that tire spin. A 2.8 second recorded zero to sixty time and you put it on camera. You were entertained and then you entertained me. That was cool. Got to preserve this display of your 2.8 on the film forever. Supercar numbers!!!! Base model Corvettes are a bit lighter. That weight might actually have helped the car to hook up a little better. This was beyond cool. 3.3. Too many of these runs might not be real good for the car as far as wearing it out. The base car is the lightest car, so that can help out a lot.
